Re: What does your name mean?

Mine is a throwaway name; I didn't want OccultForum tied to my other projects and communities. Obviously it comes from "aurora borealis", it translates to "northern" in Latin.

Re: Spell to life in a Paralel Universe

Many here have declared that material transfer to another plane isn't possible. They quickly dash to substances to alter the mind or to astral projection. Why? Because they personally fail to literally manifest material? Because they personally fail to jump dimensions? This makes them assume it's i...

Re: Magic number 11

In Thelema, 11 is a special number which corresponds to the magical word Abrahadabra, the word of 11 letters. It symbolizes the uniting of the microcosm and the macrocosm -- the pentagram and the hexagram. According to Crowley it is the "Word of the Aeon" and it “represents the Great Work complete, ...

Re: Spell to life in a Paralel Universe

I think everyone here has some interesting suggestions so far, so I'll give my input on those. So you want to create a wonderland ? I don't think you actually need some special spell for that. The wonderland Cerber speaks of, if I'm not mistaken, refers to an inner-world or astral temple. This is te...

Re: Spell caster

The best way is to become one yourself! The better you understand how it all really works, the easier it is to spot a phony. I'm not sure there are any clear giveaways that always apply. Charlatans can be crafty. However, if someone actually believes in what they are doing, then their magic is real,...

Re: Ritual Advice/Workings for Novices

I think the big idea in satanic philosophy is to get rid of the idea of "worshiper" that is the idea of obedience and blind faith. Servantofthelord sounds like they may be a Luciferian, rather than a Satanist. Satanists are all about personal empowerment and the exaltation of desire, and are genera...

Re: Show Your Altar

I wish I could say I had a cool altar, but I share a small apartment with four other people, and there's no corner left I could put one in! If I need an altar, I put some things together on my bed, and then put them away later. Or, sometimes I do it outside in a field nearby, or under a bridge down ...

Re: Is anyone achieving "practical" results from divination?

Sometimes. I've had some really spot-on single draws from my tarot deck, and other times what comes out seems like gibberish. I seem to draw the 9 of swords more often than any other card. There have been spreads I've done that were also very strong, and others that seemed like noise. Having concent...

Re: Where did everyone go?

I only see guests and the bots online. There was a spike in activity when we reopened, but it's dwindling. We never had more than a couple registered users online at once this time around. I think when everyone sees how slow the activity is, they want to see more posts happening, but they don't wan...

Welcome to the forum! We just started back up after this forum also got hacked last year, so we're a little slow right now and still trying to get the word out. I hope you enjoy yourself, and find a few threads to post in to keep the ball rolling!

What are you watching?

What shows and movies are you watching recently? I watched John Wick 2 and Skyfall last weekend, both were pretty good. And I finally watched The Godfather a few weeks ago, and that was as excellent as people say. After I watch John Wick 3 I might like to find some more classical movies, if I'm not ...

Re: Ritual to evoke Maat

If anyone has tried to summon Maat, it looks like they didn't publish their work. You will have to make your own ritual. Look up and read rituals for summoning other gods, especially Egyptian ones, but others will also work. Learn what makes up a god summoning ritual. Then create your own. A ritual ...

Re: Need help on identification of summoning

People cast magic all the time without realizing it. Here's my theory. It's possible that the energy of the venus sigil empowered your subconscious associations with the story you were writing, resulting in a manifestation. It sounds like destroying the sigil broke the energetic link and ended the e...

Hello, I'm your new system administrator, Borealis. I'm taking over for the last guy, who I happened to be in contact with after taking over hosting a different site for him a while back. I am a chaos magician who has been practicing for about 3 years now, but I had some interest in magic before the...

Re: Still active? New student looking to learn.

Yeah I've been studying Buddhism for about 10 years. So I'm not looking for info on that. I have the Tibetan book of the dead. What differentiates occultism from wicca? Im not particularly fascinated with any one tradition yet. Still in the knowledge gathering stage before I choose one or an amalga...

Re: Suicide spell

There are stories of monks being capable of controlling their own heartbeat, or knowing the exact moment when their death will arrive. With enough control over the body's energy systems, it is probably possible to override your own life support functions. So, I think there are ways, but they would r...
