Re: Dissociation of Feeling From Meaning

I agree. I find also that having a specific feeling perspective is kind of a "finite mind" thing. Which gets kinda fuzzy around the edges if you push even slightly beyond the first person finite state of mind. bit of a side note, but emotions have an energy-body mechanic to them. they function kind ...

Re: A list of questions for you all

Hi so in another thread we were talking about Gods and "spiritually advanced beings" and I decided to ask a short list of questions to clarify what people have discovered so we can find common ground for a discussion. 1. What are the characteristics of a "spiritually enlightened/ascended master/ Go...

I find this a strangely apropos moment to mention that I like your quote-tag Cybernetic_Jazz.
it kinda fits into the thread.
Although I'd argue that doing a thing relentlessly 'is' doing it perfectly ;)

That's an interesting perspective. The idea that we create astrological effects through the collective consciousness.
I'd have to dwell on that some I think.

stuff vedas aren't really an electronics 101 course :P it's more to do with the state of the mind/soul/body and one's relationship to the wheel of reincarnation. Probably just depends on how much your own personal approach to doing magick relies on the "theatrics" of the event to reinforce your focus & mental state. However, it's worth pointing out that objects can uh... terminology is forever my bane... lets call it "accumulate resonance". Or perhaps just d...

Re: Is anyone achieving "practical" results from divination?

I have at times had people come to me seeking divination of their concerns. I'm not very good at divination. I'm actually much better at getting into peoples' heads. So I do that instead. But the interesting coincidence here ...is that the answers to peoples' concerns are almost always inside their ...

Re: A question for Mages and Mystics

Hmmm, well I think we agree on the idea that self denial can in some ways inflate (rather than deflate) the influence of something within our psyche. Sort of the trope of the hellfire preacher who's struggles profoundly with a vice. It's a slightly difficult concept to put to words, but in essence.....

I once "caught" a nightmare entity. I just wanted to love it and hug it and call it George. It was not amused. I was amused though. I guess what I'm saying is, regardless of what it may be... I wouldn't react to it through the lens of fear. Reactions made in fear usually cause more problems than the...

I've had stuff like this happen. I've also woken up from a dream because I was fed up with how the dream was going, and I was just kinda like "screw you guys, i'm going home", and woke up. I've also had nightmares which I woke up from because it became apparent that I was "being messed with" and I w...

You can tell yourself to remember your dream before going to sleep. You can also tell yourself to wake up at a specific time. Neither of these work 100% of the time, so don't bet your important job interview on an internal alarm clock. But they work far more often than you would think likely. For be...

Re: Why is it so hard to change your mind

I tend to feel that I don't have this problem.

I like to learn new things more than I like to be right about something.

If I find out I'm wrong about something, I almost automatically learn something new.

This is an enticing prospect, not a threatening one.

astrology is my nickpick. don't get me wrong, people are more active during a full moon because there's an instinctive knowledge that you can hunt at night in the moonlight. tides rise & fall and affect life. the sun is obviously pretty important. and what time of the year you are born might (possib...

I lean more tantrika. Taboo is the art of inflating the importance a forbidden thing within the mind by way of denial. I say examine and become intimately familiar with desire, rather than trying to bury it in the sand. I don't think it easily dissolves by way of ignoring it. But rather by dissolvin...

I think therefore I am. beyond that, certainty is a delusion I selectively allow. even still, I'd reflexively react to danger, without pondering it's reality. it is useful to know that I don't really know, but the experience of reality is a more visceral and instinctive thing. I think one of the key...

Seems this is about aspirations vs. reality. No detailed plan survives first contact with the enemy. If anyone wants to get out the seppuku knife over that, then they're just conserving oxygen for realists. Sometimes the universe beats you, and you let it slide. Sometimes the universe gives you a br...

Realism and Experience I do also like the suggestion that understanding psychology is important. Gnothi Seauton, know thee thyself.... need I say more? I might also add that a firm grasp of logical thinking, and lateral thinking skills, are both immensely useful. but realism and experience are the m...

100% objectivity is a fantasy, at least it is this side of divine infinite consciousness. that said, i'm a fan of objectivity, insomuch as we can channel it. though I'm realistic about just how objective we can be, which in itself is a kind of meta-objectivity. as for manifesting wounds... hard to s...
