Re: Can a human become a demon/devil?
Yes, a human can become a demon. Typically it is something a person might chose to do in the afterlife, serve in the legions. Also, as far as becoming possessed, all those connections to the "higher" can be cut. There are entities that do this cutting of connections. There are 99 levels/la...

Re: Ritual Advice/Workings for Novices
I think the big idea in satanic philosophy is to get rid of the idea of "worshiper" that is the idea of obedience and blind faith.

Re: Goetia
Contact, that is the easy part. Now, depending on how you mesh / what you ask of them, they may or may not want to honor your request, and depending upon what/who you ask, it can even backfire. I highly recommend becoming skilled with divination before diving into the goetia.

Re: Is anyone achieving "practical" results from divination?
I used to worry about fate and stuff like that. Now I no longer worry about it, or that I won't be able to influence loved ones, hated ones or just others around me. That is as a result of a certain initiation.

Demons don't care if you want to use a circle or not. It isn't disrespectful or anything and I would highly recommend it for beginners.

Is Thelema a religion?
When I first got interested in Thelema, I thought of it as a religion. I was hoping to replace Christianity with it. Now that I am doing my true will, I don't care. I still use some rituals from Thelema from time to time and I still apply some of the philosophy, but I don't really care about it anym...

Re: Where did everyone go?
I'm in a lot of active groups on facebook, but honestly I don't want to get too personal on facebook, not with everyone seeing every damn thing I post and potentially take it out of context. Also, face book is terrible for long involved multi-paragraph posts like you see on forums. I feel like faceb...

Re: Dark Night of the Soul
Studying the tarot is good, not because, oh the tarot, but because the tarot is one very effective means of divination, part of the whole "should I cast this spell or should I work with this entity" type questions that will help you out when making decisions. Also if you have mixed feeling...

First of all I had no clue this place was back up and running - some of the responses kicked off email notifications. I feel like Dr. Frankenstien here "Let there be life." Mwhaha But I will spend some time hanging out here to improve the quality of this forum beyond and above what it onc...

Re: Mainstream occult ideas that you consider really pernicious?
1. I think too much time is spent on Kabalah (like everyone else here said.) Trying to stuff all systems into some Jewish chart is stupid. Also it makes it seem like there is some kind of roadmap and progress where there really isn't, and it can make you feel like you are getting somewhere when you ...

Re: A re-entry into art
Ethnogens aren't necessary if you get good with magick. The trick is to keep control and not feel like you are losing your mind. Anyway, IMHO, the purpose of magick is to cause change in accordance with the will, not the mere experience of things like "hearing voices and seeing things that aren...

Re: Still active? New student looking to learn.
I've been studying wicca, mainly because that was the first path i found. It also seems to be kind of up my alley since I spend allot of time in the woods alone. But I don't really know anything about the other traditions to say I'm totally devoted to one over another. Mostly I'm just trying to bet...

Re: Pope Francis wants to change the Lords prayer
I haven't been keeping abreast with the Catholic changes. (other than the obvious changes due to the new virus) but I'm curious what he wanted to change the prayer to. I know the old "I am not worthy to receive you." was changed to "I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof....

Re: Dark Night of the Soul
I experienced the dark night of the soul. It was awful. I felt really cut off from god. Now some spiritual traditions talk about dryness, when certain prayers or incantations no longer work anymore, and you should keep plowing through them, and suposively on the other side will be enlightenment. In ...

Re: A new Tree of Life
Honestly, I'm not that found of the the kabbalah and tree of life in general. I don't find it very helpful. I guess it was supposed to be some Jewish framework for spirits/esoteric stuff that the Golden Dawn borrowed for its own imbalanced usage. I know Dion Fortune and Allister Crowley were really ...

Re: The biggest cause of suffering today
Buddha said that desire was the cause of suffering, I'm going to invert that statement. The LACK of desire is the cause of suffering. That is a good statement. It explains why sometimes rich people are so miserable (like Buddha was) and also why people who just give up on life seem so miserable, bec...

Well, fun times now, with the virus the system has been forced to take a break. Time to really ramp up the occult practice and create the life you always dreamed of having. Anyway, if you have a good effective practice, it need not be a time consuming all consuming endeavor, the key is to have a pra...

I have an account on both studio acanis and occult corpus. Re: White privilage
Here is the thing with privilege, it is kind of a double edged sword. People look at social hierarchies, and think things like "these are the people on the top, these people are on the bottom, these people are in the middle etc. We even have this with relationships, top and bottom etc. For inst...

That is why it is good to be a member of multiple communities. That way, if one shuts down, you can continue the worthwhile conversations somewhere else. Anyway, at this point here in 2020, I think shutting down LHP forums would be pointless, because more would just spring up somewhere else. In fact...

Anyway, I agree with the suggestions about meeting students where they are at. This is always a hard thing, and Crowley really struggled with it a lot.

JHVH is an angel of Satan.
The idea that JHVH is an angel of Satan, does not seem to work for me in practice. If I do the JHVH thing in ritual, I feel like crap, if I use the name Satan, I feel good. Therefore they are not the same energy.

I don't really think you need to join a group to find a curiculum. I guess if I was you (that I am not) I would go a head and buy one of those spiritual development books and do all the exercises in order just like they say. I think a group is more useful in terms of having other members. I guess it...

My personal view of the Satanic Bible is that it is newbie stuff and I am past that stage. My view of the Church of Satan is that now it is pretty useless, and doesn't look like a particularly good place for either spiritual or material development. I don't see Leveyain Satanism as a bad thing, I ju...

Why are you an athiest? Are you one of those people who tried magic and found it didn't work? I started doing the star ruby for the lolz too, then one day I saw a floating pentagram.
