Re: Mind Over Matter

The universe seems to be a single energetic conduit. Whether calling or banishing, getting help or approval from a water spirit, concentrating energy on an effect (prayer/chanting/etc.), or speaking audible words to a friend, everything is touching, so to speak, with no need for an intermediary medi...

Re: Can wizards wear ten gallon hats?

Oh, I'm just a wee lil wizard still, better stick to fedoras. Bamboo hats when I'm in China. Not that a wizard should wear large hats, nor even pointy hats—stylish though they may be—but a hat needs a head, and a head a hat. And if one would wear a hat, why not make a big impression. People would ne...

Can wizards wear ten gallon hats?

I had a hasty departure without saying goodbye, and now I won't say hello again, either.

Pure math as a magick? What spells do you think would work well with, say, trigonometry?

Re: When do you stop believing?

Reptillian's way works well for him/her. That's pretty cool to have such full ideas about how to go about it. Many spend their entire lives trying to get at life through a spell, and fail dismally. I choose to believe that everything in the whole of my experience is not as it seems, but that's more ...

You seem angry. Usually, people wouldn't look to find any old thing they could grasp on to say, "YOU'RE WRONG!!"

Re: Can you help but do evil? I do not see how. Do you?

Howdy Bomoss. Evil is possible to avoid, simply by choosing to believe or "realize," if you will (at least for the self), that good and evil are a false dichotomy. It's only evil in point of view, in opinion. If evil does exist, it's far too much fun to cause mischief not to develop both p...

Re: Beginning study of occult anthropology and geography

I'm a young'en, and unfortunately this discussion seems lacking in today's society, but it was once commonly debated as to which faculties humans have that the base animals do not. I've since learned that on top of opposable thumbs, which the animals we can, at least, commonly see don't seem to shar...

Re: Is this normal?

I would think that you're totally crazy, unless you're not, in which case it's normal like Vashta said. I used to see blips and for lack of a better word, "glitches" in my vision. Learned to tune them out and only see them when I wanted.

Re: Building up energy

One thing I did for example is go to a swinger's club (I was a virgin) with a friend. I wound up in a threesome with blow jobs all around with a hetrosexual couple. Needless to say this really blew my mind. I didn't have much fun at all because it was far too shocking for me but I noticed myself ch...

Re: Journeying to The Otherworld

That is a most excellent combination of the Chaotic magicks into one seamless structure: the shamanic, energetic, psychological, and quantum. It's a step in a direction I think every magick user of any faith or creed seeks. Gratz

I hope to reach this level, too.

Energy Expenditures

I have a question for everyone:

Do you think that energy is used up by spells?

If so:

Do material objects save your energy or would learning to not need materials save more?

Re: Building up energy

You can build up energy in a lot of different ways, but it tends to be easier to feel the effects of not having it. Do you work out hard or soft, long or short? Exhausting yourself every time from strenuous or lengthy exercises seems to be bad for your body in the longer run. The most effective way ...

For that matter, so that I'm not making another thread, if you know of any aphrodisiacs, even rare ones that only come from the rainforest, I'd like to hear about them.

It seems like each person might also have their own individual turn ons as far as foods or herbs go.

Re: Non-Tarot Divination Cards

I just don't like how they try to give defined meanings for each card, as if it means this every time. I think it means what the user feels it should mean, like reading the clouds or something else that's directly tied to intuition (as opposed to being the intuition on what the card manufacturer say...

I agree that sleep meds aren't necessary and may hurt in the long run. And the US Native American Church ($300 membership, unfortunately) also has peyote among its membrs. I don't actually know any Toltecs or Yaqui indians. I would happily leave all my psych meds behind if a man I trusted as my mast...
