Moving On
Having been a member here for almost three years, I feel it's time to move on. Over the years I've joined a number of Pagan and Occult forums and while at most of them have experienced much of the same when it comes being accepted as part of these type of communities. Why would any human being with ...

Re: Bear totem
Anywhere roams the bear, the bear will have kinship with men and women. Mkwa, Muga or Muqua to my people, the bear at times symbolizes excellent senses, tracking skills and strength as well as protective. They are thought of as wise and noble, but sometimes will be in the company of a trickster. I'...

Re: Ancestors and Multiracialism
I'm just starting to get into ancestor veneration, but I have a very diverse ancestry. I'm Scotch-Irish, African of some sort, Chinese, and Cherokee. The problem is that I really have no idea what region of Africa my ancestors came from, and none of my relatives know either. Also, I'm not really su...

Re: Bear totem
Hey :) I'm fairly unfamiliar with totem animals, but I've heard that they represent the subconscious trying to tell us something.. Has anyone heard this before? Or is it more along the lines of an actual animal spirit hovering about the individual? Actually the term ‘totem’ was derived from the Alg...

Hawk and the Merlin
The hungry old hawk Roosting in the woods on an empty belly Chased away from the meadow by too many crows A tangle of tree limbs and under brush Scolded by barred owls That next morning Daring to venture out to the meadow’s edge Hoping to pounce upon a tender young cottontail Or at least a meadow vo...

Re: Does This Count as Shamanism
Shamanism is animism in practice.
Spiritual leaders of many different primitive cultures do make use of different natural substances, but this comes with many generations of knowledge and practice, not just because they were intrigued by new age books written by non-indigenous authors.

Re: Does This Count as Shamanism
Some occultists are very much against drugs. In my opinion, drugs and magick are intimately interrelated. Castaneda's descriptions of drug use in shamanism should be read by anyone with questions like yours. The current government inspired drug war hysteria serves to seperate society from its roots...

Sometimes while meditating in my 'special place' spirit guide Wind Waffle appears. An obscure fact, Wind Waffle was first channeled by the incompetent Cornish dentist and rubber band collecting buff Maurice Trenchwhistle back in 1961. Wind Waffle appeared to Dr. Trenchwhistle as a rather run of the ...

Red Eyed Vireo
Sitting and having coffee this morning Having gotten up much too early, I was barely awake Watching the swirling mist play atop a mountain lake Wondering if this vista was only a dream Then a red eyed vireo landed and began talking to me This was quite enough to confirm why yes it had to be Such exp...

Re: Native American magic(k), witchcraft
I too am most interested in the forest Indians. In my case, I most like the northeastern peoples. The works I've provided should be regarded as reliable sources for many native peoples, but strongly lean toward the Indians of the forest. I'd be happy to discuss the works in a series of personal mes...

Re: Native American magic(k), witchcraft
After being a bad troll down in the trollpit, Hail to my moral resurrection and, again found some urge to practice! I am troubled for ages, can't find a book on the internet to practice some Native magic ie. spellcraft and witchcraft by it. Would be thankful for any resources on this subject given ...

Persecution at the workplace
Having been at the same state job for over twenty years, I'm pretty much alright knowing that the majority of my thousand fellow employees are Christian and most of them are nice people who keep their religion out of the workplace. Then there's the assistant facility director who pretty much runs th...

Re: How did you find your guide?
In the traditional beliefs of my people such spirit guides or helpers find us, but initially not without some sacrifice on our part. Mine involved being left high on a thickly wooded mountain slope for almost two weeks with some water, but no food. My helper all along, she arrived, introduced hersel...

Wonder if a poem about Spring, budding trees,
honeybees,
birds
streams,
wildflowers
and morning sunbeams -
would fetch as much response?

Ahhh poetry, how it doth inspires, stirs emotions and sometimes sparks reaction.
To the joy of free spirits and discomfort of despots.
Killing the poets will not make poetry die.

Angling.
Knowing what hatch is occurring and presenting the proper fly.
What do we have here, a brook trout waiting behind a moss covered stream rock or an old horny head chub up from the bottom?
