@the_spiral
My question is based on this idea of functionality. With the example of Tarot Nova, the pictures are quite vague, and leaves much to be desired for backgrounds if there were any (I don't know if you can see the picture).
I didn't mean to be ignorant sounding, it's just a question

Re: Any such thing as a bad Tarot Deck?
@fraterai I've seen some cards that are blank that you can design yourself. Another deck where you can personally color them :) @Desecrated I collected quite a few themed decks but I mostly rely on my Rider Waite deck. I'm still learning, how I can use the cards in other rituals. I've been reading a...

Any such thing as a bad Tarot Deck?
Specifically decks like the Tarot Nova. It's one of those obscure cheap decks you'd buy at big bookstore chains. I was sorting through the deck I bought for a dollar. Everything is in it, I got it at a thrift store. The problem is how vague, ugly and lifeless the deck feels. It's a convenient pocket...

Re: Is there such thing as an Astral Temple?
@Mem
Excuse me. You're a terribly unnerving person.
FYI, I'm happy to call myself a eclectic. Call me a "dabbler" if you want, I'd rather follow my own path than some dogma peddler or some elitist "master".
I've no longer any interest in what you have to say.

Re: Is there such thing as an Astral Temple?
@Mem I'm rather young, I'm 24 years old and I've only been practicing for 6 years. Whatever the case is, if I'm misinformed about this so-called Astral Temple that I've devised, it's been working for me. I identify as an eclectic, abeit an inexperienced one. I resonate with some concepts in chaos ma...

Re: Is there such thing as an Astral Temple?
Self improvement, relaxation, escaping from the real world, building visualization skills. I find that my magick is more potent when I use visualization. I figure the more I learn to master that, I'll get better as I go along. My goal as a magician has been to master myself. I've neglected myself fo...

Re: Is there such thing as an Astral Temple?
Like I said, the idea is to give me an alternative to working in the physical. If I'm away from home, or I don't have the required materials, I will switch to that method of working. So far it's been successful. I just want to get into the habit of working and I'm wondering if there are any actual b...

Re: Is there such thing as an Astral Temple?
I know most of the Rider Waite Tarot. If I forget the context of the card, when I come back out of the astral temple into the physical world, I will consult a book or website. I usually write them down on paper once I come out. Meditation wise, I will focus on a mantra, and sit. Or I will imagine so...

Re: Is there such thing as an Astral Temple?
The work that I will do, in such a temple, is my normal ritual routines. I don't have access to the right candles or some tools at the moment. So my intention is to do my general spiritual work in there. When I say for example, I'm using the tarot, I visualize the deck being shuffled and drawing 3 c...

Re: Is there such thing as an Astral Temple?
Thank you for all your kind replies. :) I've bookmarked the Ritual Magick Book on Amazon. I believe in my library I have some Franz Bardon. I will investigate further. I certainly have a Jason Miller book on my shelf. I will skim through it today. :) Christopher Penczak... I'll make note of the auth...

Is there such thing as an Astral Temple?
Given my small room and lack of quality materials to work with (specifically I don't wanna use paraffin candles anymore), I've been improvising by doing what I think is called an Astral Temple. I'm not exactly sure if what I've been doing Astral work by definition but it has been working so far. I'v...

Greetings, and an offering of thanks
Hello friends, I don't know if this is necessary, but I feel it is. I'm doing exponentially better than I used to. I still have a few bumps in the road but I'm carrying on. I cook, clean, and function more like I'm supposed to now. With some hard work my knowledge in life, magick and so forth have i...

BTW, Kurokami, thank you so much for your assistance.
Don't mind me I'm just distracted by this and I'm putting some time into much needed research
I am grateful for your assistance and it is a valuable and welcomed gesture
I don't think I should wear this until I at least know what it means.

Re: Identifying a piece of Jewelry I own?
@Kurokami I consulted the Key of Solomon and a book called "the Book of Signs" by Rudolf Koch. I know where I think I saw it but it's not conclusive. In the Book of Signs, on the back and in the contents it shows a similar picture. I will post it. The similar picture is a stone mason symbo...

Re: Identifying a piece of Jewelry I own?
@Kurokami
I have no idea. I noticed lately this thrift store had some oddities and I might have not seen it last time. I grabbed it the second I saw it on a rack.
It would be time consuming to consult my books but I know I've must have seen this before...

Identifying a piece of Jewelry I own?
I found a necklace at the thrift store. I'd like to know what it's meaning and purpose is if anyone is able to recognize the markings engraved on it. I think it's either something Goetic or Rune based but I can't really put my finger on it. I know I've seen something like this before.

Re: High School Dropout Occultists
I'd like to share some of my story. I am on the autistic spectrum(ASD), have ADD, OCD and I had pica as a child (when you eat inanimate objects like plastic, metal and paper, in my case). I had very poor health which I am now suspecting the pica had to do with. It would greatly interfere with my sch...

Magick Bottles (Craft Idea)
Hey everyone :) Dropping by to say hello. I feel like this would be a good place to post about this since it's one of my most recent projects and you guys might enjoy the idea. I made some little craft bottles that I filled with whatever I think would be nice to carry with me. In the example I'll be...

Re: Aleister Crowley's Magick in Theory and Practice
@Spida I have obtained most of those pdfs. I think it's mostly just reading off a computer that's a bit distracting for me whereas the format of a book is more natural for me. Heck I don't even think I finish many occult books. I'm better at novels. :) It's nice to know I'm not alone in my explorati...
