Re: Scariest experiences with the occult?
My freakiest story was from when I was a kid. My mother acquired this old second-hand chest of drawers. She put it in my brother's room (he would have been about nine at the time, I was about six). He told us one morning he'd awoken during the night to see a 'demon' sitting on this chest of drawers ...

Re: My experience with an Aboriginal God.
Hiya Daud, thanks for sharing! Please keep us updated. I was especially interested to see your picture. I remember seeing paintings very much like that one in books of Aboriginal art when I was a kid. Did you get any sense of "character" from this entity? Or was the contact too brief? Chee...

They look neat.
I like the little bottles you've used. I've made spell jars in the past but didn't bottles that small - as a consequence they always end up one-quarter filled and don't look nearly so nice as yours!

Oh cool, have you ever been as far as the earth's rim? You should fly over and find out what sex Great A'Tuin is, that knowledge could make a man very rich.Yeshai wrote:As already stated, I do quite a bit of flying. Probably more than you do, and I've never noticed the earth to be spherical.

LMAO!
You can figure out whether the earth is flat or spherical for the cost of a plane ticket. You're welcome!

Re: Appropriate Cultural Appropriation?
Among the difficulties I face in my exploration of the occult is a percieved lack of 'connection' with many of the mythologies and traditions I have come across. I feel a need or desire for an 'ancestral connection' to a magickal tradition, however, as a white male living on stolen land, cut off fr...

Re: The Rosicrucian Order, AMORC
In the first place, they claim to accept people of all religions and to be a group of knowledge and not religion, however, I often find them connected to gnostic paradigms. Can someone clear this up for me? Rosicrucianism is a European current that was (many would say is and always will be) Christi...

Re: Aleister Crowley's Magick in Theory and Practice
Hi there. As you probably know, Magick in Theory and Practice is one component of the larger Book 4 . It should, theoretically, possibly, hopefully, make more sense if you read the first two parts of that book first. But Crowley's entire system is based on Qabalah, so if you are unfamiliar with this...

Hi there. Google is your best friend for discovering local occult groups. I haven't looked it up, but I would be very surprised if the O.T.O. and AMORC do not operate in BC, as well as at least a dozen Wiccan covens and probably a good few ceremonial groups as well. Failing that, there are a couple ...

Re: Demiurge and YHVH use in the LBRP question.
Nice post, EternalReturn.
I note that the so-called Bornless ritual contains an invocation of Abraxas. A favourite to Crowley and Regardie as a method of achieving union with the Holy Guardian Angel - but if Abraxas is associated with the demiurge, that seems counter-intuitive, does it not?

There's no reason you can't write sigils for trivial things. Phil Hine and Grant Morrison actually recommend it.EternalReturn wrote:I'll think about it for few days and come up with something.

The trouble is these people have a viewpoint on life that I would never be able to arrive at by purely intellectual means. I love you, CyberJ. In particular the above sentence. Remember the human intellect cannot be trusted at all. If your mind is giving you a hard time, whip it into line and remin...

Ah, I can't say this surprises me. You've been running a one man show over here (and doing a fine job, I might add), and there are only so many hours in a day. Thank you very much for your time, Clockwork Ghost. Good luck with your business and maybe one day you'll arrive in a suit of shining armour...

Hey there HiramSmith, welcome aboard. :) I'm interested to ask you about your experiences in Freemasonry (that is, obviously, those parts you can talk about freely). As barbaric as humanity's treatment of animals is and always has been (in every country, including the wealthiest), some cultural context is important. The Fool (0) is our hero. He is a baby, thrown into the world blind, deaf and dumb and armed with nothing but an inexplicable impulse to grow. He doesn't know who he is or where he is going, but he is going to take his best shot, armed only with his enthusiasm and a can-do attitude. The first figure...

Rate of failure
I realise 'failure' may be a loaded term. I suppose this question is directed to the many experienced occultists we have here. When it comes to magical operations, what is your rate of failure? Suppose you perform an evocation, and nothing shows up? You cast a spell but don't manifest what you wante...

Re: Magic - art, science, or..?
I think magic is an art, because two people doing precisely the same thing may experience different results. One may not experience any results at all. This is why there are so many different magical systems, and not every system works for every practitioner. On the other hand, if certain processes ...
