Ever co sidered how shamanistic parties are?

Let's compare the two: 1.Repetitive, meaningless, rhythmic music 2. Use of drugs 3. Dancing untill you're exhausted in a trance Just something that popped into my head a while ago. I wonder if one could view raves as massive rituals? But what is the purpouse of a rave? A shamanistic working can, as ...

"Magic words" using Pavlov's dog effect

Hi Before all, let me explain what is Pavlov's dog effect for those who do not know. Essentially, pavlov was a scientist studying instrumental learning- he observed that every time the lab dog would see food, it would start secreting saliva. Then, every time the dog was fed, Pavlov would ring a bell....

This may be a dumb question

Do spirits speak all languages?

Or telepathy does not actually "support" them, instead only transmitting intention?

Re: Visions of an eye?

I am meditating about calmness while repeating a trigger word in order to evoke a Pavlov dog effect when I say the trigger word. I do not deal with any entities that are associated with eyes and I am not hindu- these eyes would be much more soothing if they were divine guidance, but they are unnervi...

Visions of an eye?

Hello Occultists! Lately, I've been trying to begin meditating. I sit down comfortably, quiet my mind, and relax. And it's quite nice. But! After a couple of minutes, I begin to see eyes. Not imagine them. I see them in the darkness of my eyelid. There is always one eye, and it is always open, but s...

A theory on philosopher's stone

Greetings to all! Recently I've been researching the subject of the philosopher's stone. Let's do a quick walkthrough of it's abilities: 1.Changing base metals into gold 2.Used to make elixir of youth, essentially making one immortal One thing that caught my eye is the way it is supposebly made(from...

Re: What do gods do in their free time?

Oh no. Theological questions :-D While we're at it, what about the one with the stone? "Can [an omnipotent being] create a stone so heavy that it cannot lift it?" This question generates a dilemma. The being can either create a stone it cannot lift, or it cannot create a stone it cannot li...

Re: What do gods do in their free time?

A good point, mythology.

But between each other? Like Zeus and Amon-Ra going to a cafe once in a while, boasting about accomplisments or discussing destinies for mortals [rofl]

Re: Feathers in magic?

Indeed.
The Firebird is known in Serbian as Ember- bird (žar-ptica).

And I've mentioned before-embers are a vital part of general healing rituals.

I see a link, don't you? The feather is supposed to represent the Ember-bird, the symbol of life and fire.

Re: Feathers in magic?

Thank you so much, such a comprehensive answer! I guess I should have figured to put the nationality. I, like my great-grandfather am a 100% Serbian (You know, slavic people north of Greece and Macedonia). Also something to note is the fact that magick is taboo in Serbia, being flooded with orthodox...

Feathers in magic?

Greetings! Any idea or historical record of people using feathers in magick? I am researching this beucase I've recently found out my great-grandfather Dila was a healer in a village near my city. He was known to heal people with waving of a feather and chanting. Was it some symbolism? Or a improvis...

Re: Passive energy rift idea

Haha thaumcraft :-D. I dont think magic works like that in it. There are infinite realities, correct? That means that there is one composed entirely of energy. Of course I can tap into these myself, but I need a passive flow for constant spells Ok maybe I should just leave before I embarace myself :-)

Passive energy rift idea

Recently, I've found that my energy supplies for enchanted items are lacking. Seeing that, i've devised a small idea. Picking up my quill and inkwell, i designed a sigil within a ornamented circle, with the purpouse of opening a small rift to the Otherwhere allowing a passive energy flow. Hope you f...

What do gods do in their free time?

This might sound silly, but do gods ever rest? Do they, when they are not evoked(or invoked, whatever) and when they are not answering prayers? Do they go together for a party of 'godly golf' or go to a 'godly jazz club' [happy2] ? Do forgive me if this sound immature, but this has been troubling me...
