Re: can inhaling smoke of herbs cause divinition

Here is a question. If you can FORCE open the third eye with a substance, synthetic or natural, are you sure you want to? My first experiences were sober, and not really pleasant. I shudder to think what those would be like with an amplifying substance involved. I could have literally died from fear...

Re: Possible solution to sleep problem.

Honestly, the only problem I see with using the cookie to store energy is that i never had much success storing energy in food/drink. The theory of the spell is sound for dealing with periodic insomnia. I would go for a rock rather than food, but the principle is sound. I may be mistaken, but as far...

Re: New Branch of Magick

Magic at the core is basically a push of will. The "outdated" symbolism is really just there as a focus tool, something to align your mind in the right direction. Why not just cut out all the symbols? If you find them outdated, then just use your will. If you understand the literal meaning...

Re: Channeling Blues?

And once again, it comes back to yoga. I had just mentioned to a friend that I needed to pick it back up due to sewing slouch. How exactly does it help with this? The videos I see are very focused on the physical side and stretching, so I don't see them as far removed from pilates. How does this act...

Re: Shinto Mysticism

I am indeed warned. I seem to recall the karasu-tengu being rather sensitive on false piety and humility no matter how formally these are offered. If I were to invite one in, I had better be honest in all aspects. And as I said, they know who I am, and thy know if they want to accept an invitation o...

Re: Shinto Mysticism

I like both answers to this, and here is why: We know how we show someone respect. When working with kami, respect is important. If I were the sort to invite someone over for a formal multi-course dinner with all the decorative trappings of napkin holders and extra dishes for each part of the meal, ...

Re: Question about Intent in spellwork

Intent is what you want. If you want someone to heal, that is your intent. If you say with conviction "Oh, I hate him so much and just wish he would die!", that is also intent. Making sure you know what you want and why you want it before you try to back it with power is a pretty big deal.

Channeling Blues?

So back when I started out on my pagan path, about the first thing I learned was how to channel. It started with elements, and given mom gave me plenty of science, I knew quite a bit about the physical side, so it was easy grabbing it in a more spiritual form. Too bad I have always been better on dr...
