Re: What I have been up to

Hey Shawn, I have been using a very similar technique as Vap0rWar3, we have been discussing it for a while, and I am interested in your input on this. Personally I have been working exclusively with white light and a strobe frequency and drumbeat frequency of 4Hz. I read some research that stated th...

I liked that The Shadow Out Of Time short, the visuals were distracting but it was well read and enjoyable, thanks.

Occult movies?

Hi all,

I am in a mood to watch some movies.

Can anyone suggest any good occult style movies that have come out in maybe the last ten years?

Not necessarily horror type movies, but ones where the author has clearly done research in the field. Like Ninth gate but more recent.

Thanks.

Re: Starter resources for Qiqong

Thanks for the info guys. I did a search and apparently there is a "School of Chinese Internal Arts" almost at the end of my street. :D Although I am in the process of looking for a new house so I am going to put a pause on it until I am more settled, but I do think doing a class is the be...

Starter resources for Qiqong

Hi,

I am interested in getting started in Qigong.

I know basically nothing about it but I have a good grounding in meditation and visualisation.

I would appreciate it if someone could point me at some basic starter information.

Thanks.

Re: Is there any spell to prove magic to myself?

It's not blind faith, its deliberately choosing to believe in something in order to use that belief to change something. You look for results within your normal life, the things you choose to change, change, often due to the result of weird coincidences. If you don't believe in magick then when you ...

Re: Dark Night of the Soul

Then a couple years ago a change happened in me. I don't recall a catalyst. I didn't consciously initiate it. I remember first thinking something was happening in what some would call my root chakra. I have felt disconnected. Most of my spiritual/magical ideas flaked away til something approaching ...

Re: There Are Unicorns Everywhere!

Hehe, as soon as you posted the Grant Morrison link I just knew the next one was going to be Alan Moore. I grew up reading his stuff in 2000AD I loved Alan Moore's definition of magick in this talk. Really got me thinking when I first heard it. I am currently rereading Grant Morrison's The Invisible...

Re: There Are Unicorns Everywhere!

Chapter one, The thinker and the prover. Page 28 in my copy. The statement "Whatever the thinker thinks, the prover will prove." sent my mind reeling with its implications when I first read it, as did the subsequent success of the exercises. He seemed like an amazing person. I haven't read...

Honestly, there isn't anything there I particularly disagree with and have come to pretty much the same worldview myself.

I love the computer related analogies also.

Good work.

Re: There Are Unicorns Everywhere!

My wife doesn't recall what she visualised. I just imagined cartoon looking unicorns crowding my street. No altered state. Only for moments. Its stated in the book as a simple experiment, not a ritual. I am pretty sure it was mostly her that did it, she seemed pretty enthusiastic about unicorns. I w...

There Are Unicorns Everywhere!

A while back I was reading Prometheus Rising by Robert Anton Wilson, and in it he mentions an experiment where you decide and visualise that you will find a quarter lying in the street. More than likely within a few days of this exercise you will find a quarter in the street. So I am explaining this...

Friendship bracelets, as Talsimans

Many moons ago in a hazy room of sweet smoke a young hippy chick taught me how to make a friendship bracelet. They are easy to make, and are just basically coloured thread knotted together to form a pattern. http://www.instructables.com/id/how-to-make-a-friendship-bracelet-1/ So more recently I deci...

Re: Retroactive magick

I think a lot of magickal results can be thought of as retroactive. For example. One of my first experiments with sigils was the launch of a sigil to give me a good day at work. The next day I went into work and the guy I usually worked with was off sick and an old friend who i had not worked with o...

Re: Open Handed Magick

I guess I consider it a blunt tool because I am not very practised at it and when I compare it to doing a full ritual for the same result, it seems lacking. But yeah I agree, if the more open handed techniques were your main thing, then practice would make them anything but dull tools. I am fairly n...

Re: The Death Pose Alternative

Oh absolutely! I have had many significant revelatory experiences while taking stupid amounts of disreputable substances, but the question that interests me is, for the purposes of say launching a sigil, does one method of attaining gnosis give better results than others?

I hate to sound boring or anything, but it sounds kind of dangerous to induce a blackout, but i'm not a doctor.

I am also a sole practitioner so I would find it problematic to bear hug myself to unconsciousness.

Re: Open Handed Magick

Indeed. You are not the first to suggest Qigong to me recently so it is something intend to look into. Energy work is something that I have yet to get around to and Qigong sounds like the perfect place to start. Thanks. Vap0rWar3, I see what you are saying about the keyhole analogy. I feel that ritu...
