What do you wish to gain after making contact?
That is one part I am unsure about, with good reason. Some of my readings did inform me that a demon would ask for something in return for the "favor" they grant you. I am not exactly sure what I would want, because I'm not sure what you can wish for ...

if I need to relearn meditation or do some more basic rituals I can do that, no problem.

It wont be so much as needing to 'relearn' things, but adapting what you have learned in the past to new practices for the future, as well as updating or destroying old 'truths' to conform with new experience ...

Get either "into the hermetics" or "modern magick". Do 2 years of training and then you'll be prepared to start with a 6 months program to summon a demon safely.
Do the books include all the necessary training that I will be going through for the next two years?

Never, ever, ever, do anything occult-related when under the influence (especially as a beginner). That is all I'll say for now.

Like Desecrated said, 2 years + 6 months of pure training is about the adequate preparation required. Doesn't mean you won't get results if you did anything now ...
