Balancing the elements

Hi everyone. So I’ve followed Bardons book, and indeed every other one I come across seem to be in agreement that one of the most important beginning steps in magic is to balance the elements within yourself. Bardon encourages one to do this with the soul mirror, and even claims that manipulating el...

magick in the media

I hope this is the right place for this. I wasn't sure. I was wondering why in movies and books and video games it seems like they never have a realistic magick system. Is there any particular reason why writers don't ever use actual magick? like an actual enochian spirit or something? Harry potter ...

IIH step 1 questions

I assume this topic goes in modern magicks, since IIH came out in the 20th century and I saw another IIH post on the first page, although then again, that century gets further and further away every day (sorry if I just made you feel old [lol] ). I know there's been a large amount of questions about...

Hga, dweller of the threshold, crossing the abyss

Hi all, so I was wondering about what a magickal path generally looks like. My understanding is there's basics to be covered, then generally people work with elemental energies and balance those out and get rid of the bad aspects and keep the good etc. then from there I don't know. I've basically he...

Finding a teacher and nature of magick

So as I was coming up with this question I realized that it diverged into to. So the original and most important question is how do I find a teacher or group for magick (teacher would be preferred, but I'll take what I can get)? I'm an American currently studying in Leipzig, Germany. My German isn't...

Re: How to summon a demon.

Never (e/in)voke something you can't banish. Generally speaking I think most people who start doing magick start with the lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram (banishing, amongst other things), and middle pillar ritual (good for like energy and astral senses and stuff). Think of them kind of lik...

Re: Hga prerequisites

Kk. I figured basically prayers daily, continue my normal theurgical rituals and add the bornless rite, plus dedicating food and showers to purification and such. Maybe also some morning meditation. Not actually getting loads of pine wood for a room or a hollow out in a forest. Not exactly by the bo...

Hga prerequisites

Hi all. So I've been working through Donald Michael kraig's modern magick. He says do a month per chapter, so I did meditation and tarot for a month, lbrp for a month, and in a couple days I'll start the middle pillar. Since there's a month of no new practices that gives me lots of opportunity to re...
