Re: Shamanism/Magick.
Wow that's a trippy video. [zomg] I find your system fascinating, and overwhelming. There is a lot of information in what you posted, and I'm sure it relates to a lifetime of teachings. Part of me is definitely drawn towards runes, but its not where my head is at these days. I chose Chaos Magick as ...

Open Handed Magick
Open handed magick is, as far as I understand it, magick that is done without the use of materials and is done quickly on the fly to achieve quick results. Its something I have been meaning to develop and test for a while and I am open to suggestions. I am reminded of this right now as I have a litt...

Re: Shamanism/Magick.
I wish I had that much conviction. Yes, it is definitely a weakness. Fixing my weaknesses is what attracted me to magick and shamanism in the first place. The majority of my magick these days is about making myself better. My experience of working magick has led to undeniable results. At first it wa...

Re: Shamanism/Magick.
I did not know that about spirit animals. And here I just voiced mine to an online forum. Oops.. did the author explain why it's best to keep your animal secret? I consider it to be the same about any magickal work. I don't tell anyone about any magick I am actively working on. After it is done and...

Re: Shamanism/Magick.
My original interest in this post was to see how magick and shamanism would interact, but from what I have been reading I think I should treat them as two completely different things. Although I will still start all my magick and journeying with a banishing ritual and centring meditation, but that i...

Re: We live in a simulation
Quick question. I haven't done programming since I wrote BASIC on an atari ST when I was a kid. Been meaning to get into it in regard to making stuff for magickal applications, so this thread is extremely interesting to me. But I was wondering, is there a way to have a computer generate a truly rand...

Re: The minds map of the body
Interesting article. I had one sleep paralysis experience and it was exactly like they describe in this article. I had thought I heard an intruder on my property before I went to bed. Which primed my state of fear. Then the experience was text book; big black cat on my bed which morphed into a black...

Re: Servitor looks
Honestly I am not sure I am doing it completely right either. Most sources I read say to not name them or give them form as they can take on personalities and then act up if not given attention. The general advice I have read is to make them simple like an orb of light or something. When I started, ...

Re: Shamanism/Magick.
Oh and I have been thinking a bit in regard to servitors and patron gods and stuff. I don't think I should use either in my shamanic journeys as my servitors take the form of animals and so do some of my patron gods. I think using animal shaped servitors and gods associated with animals in the conte...

Re: Shamanism/Magick.
Thanks for the replies DivineFairy, I am looking into Alberto Villoldo's stuff now. I am eager to learn the techniques necessary for journeying safely. I have a wee bit of experience with magick and I have been starting any attempts at journeying with the same meditation and banishing/invoking as I ...

Re: Servitor looks
I have always used animals for mine. Usually I try to choose an animal that has characteristics similar to that of its purpose. For example, my first was a crow to help me find information of an occult nature. Then I make a physical base out of clay that looks like the animal and I inscribe it with ...

Re: We live in a simulation
Good stuff. That is what attracted me to Chaos Magick also. The ability to shape your own style around the principles of magick. Each culture interprets their experience of truth through the ideas of their time and place, so it makes sense we could use computer simulations, programs and artificial i...

Caduceus, How do you recommend getting started with energy work? What books or techniques would you recommend. I have been wanting to get into it but cant find a source that I like so far. I have a technique that works really well for pain control but it is more of a visualisation and I am not sure ...

Re: What are your goals right now? What do you want to accom
Right now in life I am preparing for a big change. Moving house at a minimum, possibly moving country. So I am preparing myself for that and doing magickal work to improve my options and divination to make the best choices. I am doing a working to control my obsessive traits, addictions, anxiety. Th...

So while I was researching lucid dreaming someone recommended an herb called Calea zacatechichi, which gives vivid dreams and increases the chance of lucidity. Might give that a look see.
