Re: How to be an occultist without losing your mind
have a magickal explanation, a layman explanation, a scientific explanation, and a crazy explanation. Doesn't that just lead to a split personality and confusion. If everything is just a mater of interpretation, then anything can be true. It's not a split. It's a stretch. It's like you widen your w...

Re: What to do if you're dumb?
Learn a few new subjects in English, train your brain, and then learn French. The brain is like a muscle, so work your way up to your goal. I honestly don't think everybody has that in them. There is a large mass of people that are just to stupid to learn a new language. Not to mention learning 4-5...

Re: What to do if you're dumb?
What's the point of having a strong will if you are too stupid to make something out of it? Let's say I want to become a french chef. But I'm too stupid to learn french. Then I'm just wasting my time. And would be better of working at mcdonalds. Learn a few new subjects in English, train your brain...

Everything makes a lot of sense to me. I should be able to push onward in my development fairly safely now. Thank you all for responding.

Re: How to be an occultist without losing your mind
Write down all your potentially volatile thoughts. Give the thoughts to someone in a sort of essay form. Ask the person you give your "knowledge" to to negatively critisize you and try to make you feel stupid. Bam, suddenly your thoughts are purified, and you have been grounded by a layman...

Re: What to do if you're dumb?
Most prodigies aren't that smart at all. They're just really good at finding weak points in systems (like tests, life, etc). If you feel stupid ever, try making yourself a little more stupid so that you can see "the bigger picture" from a childlike perspective. Learn as many "stupid&q...

Re: Meditation Danger
Spida, I like your line of thinking where everything is built of frequencies. I find science helps a lot to explain much of magick. I find that the more I progress, the more frequencies start to resonate in me (a lot like harmonics actually). It's like our mostly tangible frequencies are mostly &quo...

Re: Meditation Danger
Desecrated,
Okay. That makes sense. Sort of. I guess I'm going to spend the next month or so studying biology [thumbup]

Re: Meditation Danger
Yes, but the commentary I was reading told me to meditate for 30 minutes at a time instead of 10 minutes like Bardon suggests. Bardon says to achieve a very low goal and then move onto step two (while continuing step on forever). I think he's just trying to get the neophyte to a point where they ca...

Re: Meditation Danger
I really recommend reading about zen buddhism, because it talks about this, and I can't remember it all to summarize it properly. HOWEVER, from a a magical perspective, do some simple banishing before you start meditating, put up a circle and meditate inside of it. Make sure that you reject anythin...

Re: Meditation Danger
Hey blindwake, I think that your body and ego haven't yet catched up with your spiritual growth. That's why you get nausea/sick after your astral visions. I interpret it as your physical parts holding on tight unto what they consider reality and therefor force you to "stay" here. That wou...

Re: Meditation Danger
I haven't read Bardon in a while, but I'm almost certain this isn't the case. From memory, he gives a month as an estimated time frame, but is firm that the practitioner should never move onto the next step until they have mastered the current one. in reality, I don't know anyone who claims that 1 ...

Re: Meditation Danger
When you feel sick, imagine your internal organs, and whole body aside from your skin is filled with light. Hold this and it should help. Also try not to force it too much, relaxing into meditation is always best. I started doing something like this intuitively. I sit down, draw energy to my heart ...

Meditation Danger
I've noticed that I can split my meditation into three parts: mental, astral, and physical. The first 10 minutes I call "mental" because these minutes remove my daily surface thoughts, but don't really trigger any visions, dream scenes, etc. The next 20 minutes I call "astral" be...

Paradox / Correspondence - Belief Destruction
It has occurred to me that when I read a book on magick, I always end up with a list of mental connections that I need to make sense of the book's practical section. It's like the act of reading is equivalent to scanning for mental connections. I find that I only ever make leaps in understanding my ...

Re: Idea Sparring - A Coven of Independent Thinkers
I mean this as a forum section idea. Reverse logic. Pick an idea and work towards it instead of working blindly towards ascension. I've noticed that I never seem to have much to offer here in the way of already existent paradigms, but I'm a very good thinker in my own realm of my own terminology. In...

Idea Sparring - A Coven of Independent Thinkers
People always talk about techniques they use to achieve certain things. Why not flip this, think of an end goal, and then throw ideas around in an attempt to get the process to achieve the goal. For example, we could talk all day about why we think it's impossible or possible to make something like ...
