A hot dog (also spelled hotdog), also known as a frankfurter (sometimes shortened to frank), dog, or wiener, is a cooked sausage, traditionally grilled or steamed and served in a partially sliced bun. Typical garnishes include mustard, ketchup, onions, mayonnaise, relish, coleslaw, cheese, chili, ol...

Re: Trance Experience Question

Some of those old grimoires can be difficult to work through. There are modern grimoires that people swear by, like New Avatar Power, or the books by the Gallery of Magick. Those are all really simple systems. Rufus Opus also has some great grimoires that are derivative of older works.

I'm gonna sound like a real dad here, but if you can't help people, at least don't hurt them. Destroying peoples lives is bullshit. Thank you. Taking off my dad socks now.

I would warn against opening doors to whatever may come. It may sound kinda hokey, but I've seen too many instances where this went downhill fast, and it always starts with things claiming to be benign and good. That said, I would make sure you've got a solid banishing and hygiene practice establish...

^Good post^

And whether or not he really was a historical figure, does it even matter? What matters is how the myths/stories affect people.

Re: Protective charms

I've been working in a Christian framework. It's really not that bad once you dissociate it from all the idiots. I think it works for me because I was raised that way. There is some pretty powerful Christian magic out there. There's a lot of renaissance magic as well as folk magic that utilizes Chri...

Re: Dedicated mirrors

The idea of using a black dry-erase board that you can write on with neon colors is really interesting. I've read of using a table with a circle and symbols/names written around the circle, with a dark mirror or crystal placed in the center, but your idea seems to be killing two birds with one stone...

Re: Protective charms

I'd agree. I'm starting to think your investment of belief into anything is what gives it power. So much of magic is basically make-believe. I'm still working out if there's more of an objective science behind working with spirits but I'm really starting to think it's more subjective than anything.

Yes, auditory hallucinations happen with me when I stay up too long, even if it's just 5 hours past the time I went to sleep the night before. Good stuff.

Hi Mario. My only advice would be to find something that you can believe in. If you don't believe it's real, it won't work.

Sleep deprivation as a vision catalyst

Has anyone noticed that when you stay up really late and get really tired, you have intense visions when trying to go to sleep? I feel like a lvl 99 wizard at that point. I think it would be a good time to do some magic. Does anyone utilize states like this for magic?

Re: Undergrad Anthropology student here

My interest in magic probably stems from my childhood with a parent whose practice sort of resembles that of the Pentecostal church which seems to be pretty oriented with magical belief. Seeing people possessed by spirits and exorcised had a big influence on my interests. I guess I was always intere...

I just felt that's worth mentioning for some reason. But on the topic, I'm not sure if there are any gender nonconforming people here. It hasn't really come up.
