Re: Who's watching what on TV lately?

I realized some time back that I was watching mindless, unimaginitive, brain-rotting trash that was designed to keep me stupid and frightened, so I've pretty much abandoned all tv except for watching cartoons with my kids: Avengers, Rocket Monkeys, Scooby Doo Mystery Inc.. Oh, and I watch the mainst...

Re: What is a good beginner book for witchcraft (low magick)

Thank you for your replies... Any comments on Penczak and his books? Mmmm, I kind of stopped reading stuff like that when I turned my back on Wicca some years back. I don't really have anything bad to say about the guy per se . Just not really my cup of Tea. That being said there are probably other...

Re: What is a good beginner book for witchcraft (low magick)

hey, that is a very good question, I have no idea actually. What are some of the good 101 stuff out there in your opinion in the different traditions, and where would be a good place to start? Hey Romez, Sorry I didn't see you'd replied. Have a look here: http://www.occultforum.org/forum/viewtopic....

Re: Children, Parenting and the Occult

Yeah everybody I know in real life is Christian. However, I at least know there is an occult community in the city (about 45 min. from where I live). I'd forgotten what it's like to not live in a big city. We live in Toronto, and there are people from everywhere. It's cool. Within two blocks of my ...

Submitting to my true self broke something, and then I saw this. Understood that there is no right and wrong, and to get anywhere you have to kill all those thought patterns. Yeah, okay, that was smrt. Stoopit Return Key... Not you, SD. I'm having Keyboard issues... [rolleyes] Anyway, *ahem* I read...

What would he appreciate? well let me think.. probably that you leave him alone... Ouch... [greensmile] Yeah, Dude... Starting off with something reeeeeally powerful when you don't have a freakin' clue is just a bad idea; if it even works. Thus the Pokemon comment. Find yourself a 101 book and star...

Re: Children, Parenting and the Occult

A brief conversation with my 3 1/2 year old last night before bedtime stories... "Jesus died, right Dad?" "That's right, Dude." "So, he's not a god, right?" "That's right, Son. He was a man, like Buddha." "But Thor can't die, right Dad?" "That's...

Re: What is a good beginner book for witchcraft (low magick)

The answer to your question actually depends on how you personally define Witchcraft.
Are you referring to British Traditional Witchcraft; Wicca; Stregheria, etcetera?
Narrow it down a bit for us please. There's a ton of 101 stuff out there, and not all of it worthwhile.

Hmmm, good question... For sure they could be your Spirit Guides. The ambiguity with which they describe their origins certainly sounds about right. You certainly have enough of them. [grin2] •Do they always show up together? •Have you tried connecting with them individually? It is possible that som...

Re: I need guidance

I disagree, learning is never a waste, and Anthropology can provide avenues into living cultures where magic is practiced openly and as a regular and accepted part of everyday life. Secondly, to the OP, it seems not so much that you need a path, but more want one. This stuff can take a lifetime, and...

Re: Information about one of my guardian?

Yeah, they do go on about it don't they... It could be Ninurta/Ningirsu/Enurta. He was a Sumerian war god, and patron of the city of Lagash. What's the hammer look like? Offer him some dates and beer, and maybe some cooked grilled lamb, and he might answer some of your questions for you himself... <...

If you have the means, you could go to school and study Cultural Anthropology. It's a really good excuse for studying magic and spirituality in a way that your parents might find more legitimate, while providing you with access to academic grade learning material and a good cover for developing your...
