Re: I recommend reading The Picatrix

Astronomy/Astrology walked together until the early modern period, with medieval and renaisaissance astrology eventually merging into scientifically observable astronomy and then becoming modern astronomy, thus ending up quite divergent from the Astrology of old and the new age laden stuff you see ...

Re: New, questions about spirits

Hello Demiqas, Welcome to Occult Forum.org. I myself have just returned after a lengthy sabbatical, and happen to be an Initiate in Poke's Ordo Templi Astartes. The movie you watched was made some time ago, but is actually quite an accurate representation of what goes on. The OTA practices both Invo...

Re: Shamanic Journeying without the drum?

Well now, let me tell ya...
It's so funny that this post came up when it did.
Last Friday night I did some Shrooms, smoked a shit-load of Weed, and then tripped out listening to Jazz on my sofa,
and I wound up having a very profound encounter with a Plant Spirit.

Re: Question about lunar magic

You could always get started with Agrippa... That is the most sensible statement in this Thread so far. There's also this: "Liber Lunae or the Book of the Moon & Sepher ha-Levanah Sourceworks of Ceremonial Magic," KARR, Don (Editor), Calanit Nachshon (Translator), with an Introduction...

Why don't you try getting in touch with some Tibetan Buddhists in London.
Ya can't swing a dead cat without hitting one in my neighbourhood here in Toronto.
They must have 'em in London. [eek] [greensmile]

Re: Ritual help/advice

Covering the bases, I get that... For what it's worth, the Wife and I always just clean stuff by leaving it out in a bowl of organic white rice, for three nights over the course of the Full Moon. However, that being said, I've been hanging with a bunch of NA Native Folks lately that swear by smudgin...

Re: Help With Gematria

You need to follow the Hebrew alphabet for it to work properly. This means following Hebrew pronunciation and Grammatical rules as well. Transliteration does not count. Hebrew does not have a 'th' sound, as in think, for example, so you'd have to find the Hebrew word for think and use that. Not as h...

Re: question about norse magic

Watch out for Nazis while you're Googlitizing your Nordic self. Lots of Nazi wannabees have tried and try to rationalize their beliefs through a Norse paradigm. Have a look at Jan Fries. Jacob Grimm's Teutonic Mythology is massive and reeeeally cool, 4 volumes Stephen Flowers a.k.a. Edred Thorsson i...

Anyone that suggests that it's some kind of easy spiritual transformation is trying to sell you something. Heheheh... The same should be said of any Path. Anna-loulou , The Kabbalah is originally derived from Judaism, and made it's way into Western Esotericism via The Spanish Jewish community durin...

Re: Book Snobs

I've paid a couple of hundred dollars for books in the past, and I would certainly do so again. However, I usually don't purchase these for the content neccesarily, but more often because they are rarer copies. I also prefer reading from hardcovers for some reason. Nephilim Press and Teitan are both...

Now, I'm no Dee scholar but I would hazard to guess that it is because the spirits are Judeo-Christian depictions of pre-Christian pagan deities; e.g., Astaroth = Astarté.
