Re: Creating a school of magickal learning on OF
While I have read the objections and issues raised, I do not feel that anyone has truly discussed the benefit to the site. I see those who agree, and those who don't agree. The material pertaining to the latter is much larger than that which pertains to the prior. I personally have 9 years of genera...

Re: How do you think sigils work?
By the way, I never forget my sigils, bind-runes and power symboles - and they always work. You don't have to literally forget it, you just have to release the charge and let the magick do its thing. Like in some movies or novels like Dresden, where they talk about that charge of energy and the &qu...

Re: How do you think sigils work?
Considering that many sigils and their variations have been used and overused for a very, very long time, they have possibly become stronger as a connection between our planes of existence and higher ones. (Random thought, I wonder if single cell organisms could perceive planes, would we be a highe...

in my personal experience the protection leaves me free to deal with my inner demons. so, as to your question, yes, i think the protection keeps me here, inside me - which is a good thing because there is work to do. but also, it keeps me away from the world; the spontaneous flow between me and eve...

Re: Cult of the Dead
I found a tid-bit on "The Cult of the Dead" on sacred-texts.com a moment ago as I was unsure if i was remembering the name incorrectly. While yes it seems that (even though it is portrayed by many modern day scholars such as Raven Grimassi in regarding the mythos of witchcraft) there is a ...

Re: Paradigms vs The Practitioner
Wonderful feedback. That is much what I was saying. Whilst they all had foundations- they thought outside the box and changed or adapted the practices to suit themselves. Too often I see requests regarding a set way of doing things. It may be similar to the ideology of Chaos Magick, though set in in...

Always happy to see an expansion of knowledge ^w^ I hope you find all that you seek and more. I am also new to this forum in particular, but far from new to many different practices. Glad to have you here with us and I hope to learn as much from you as you do the rest of the Forum

Paradigms vs The Practitioner
I have been thinking for the last 4 years or so, that the reason those marked in history as the greats or most insightful or understanding of Magick- is that they have created their own methodology unique to themselves and therefor far more potent for their workings. Consider the start of any partic...

Re: How do you think sigils work?
Thank you Ramscha :) I can't say that I have an absolute certainty how sigil magick exactly works, there are too many models and ways to describe it and in the fitting context/paradigm they make mostly sense to a cerrtain degree. I therefore want to add two additional thoughts on the matter though t...

Cult of the Dead
How does everyone feel about the Cult of the Dead? From my studies it is one of the oldest (pagan to simplify) occultist groups and has influenced most pre-modernist magickal practice, and in turn a lot of practical use should have roots in this am I right? Perhaps only in Western practices, but Wes...

Re: How do you think sigils work?
I may have some more research to do Quantum physics playing a role in magickal working is certainly nothing foreign to me, however to specifically designate sigil magick would also imply Runic as well as Alchemy on the premise of image and subconscious relativity.

Re: Why does all paranormal happen after sunset?
There is very prominent Magick that is for the day time. The sun for example has several gods ruling over it from varying religions and belief systems. To utilize their power one must be comfortable in calling upon them during the day vs the night. The sun is also a wonderful means for charging ones...

Re: Sigil Magic tips
Knowledge is power :) I love the amount of information and expanding upon principle found here. Magick is subjective to each person and their comprehension of its inner-workings. Chaos Magicians have definitely expanded greatly upon its use in modern-day magick, and as such have made it much more co...

this may shed some light on the term. very interesting stuff here. It considers the kundalini and chakra systems as a type of biological system ingrained and inherent in all.

Much as the goathead gaining popularity was actually a depiction of Moses. I was shocked utterly to discover this fun fact. Moses was depicted with goathorns and the idea spiraled out of control and was more or less deified

You are very welcome, and Sigil Magick was a very intriguing area of practice to me for the longest of time. Re: Quantum equation predicts no beginning
If any of it is true, it hints at the development of an understanding that goes beyond the mundane. While agreeable that Quantum mechanics are mostly purely theoretical and are really nothing concrete and surely something to be CONSIDERED, I don't personally believe that we realize the unfathomable ...

Re: How do you think sigils work?
That is indeed a very well constructed theory, though based in standard sigil magick. Thought-forms in particular are what you are discussing. They exist in the lower planes as they are not charged nor potent enough to exist much deeper in the planes. By creating a sigil and forgetting it- you have ...

Lovecraftian Satanism?
May sound ignorant- however since I believe that all that we believe is real- I was under the impression Lovecraft's Necronomicon was very much fictitious. Has the wide following given life to something that otherwise was regarded as a joke? If I'm not mistaken it has no real roots in historical eve...

Curious and well-worn subject. As we only have speculation and belief to go off of- any one of us could be correct. In regards to new deities... I certainly believe that this is infallibly true. Our beliefs and thoughts are CREATIVE forces. Take one mind creating a thought-form... now imagine a mill...

Agreed with RoseRed on all points- especially the dark ones. Do not give them names- do not give them your fear. In relation to precog- it could simply be a personal enemy or fear- however that is not to say that it isn't something much darker. Our emotions can become manifest in our world- anger- f...
