Bunk or Debunk - Early Christian Reincarnation cover-up

FYI, I'm going to be digging into this one today. Have about a week before my next job starts and at least one of the orders I've joined blithely declares, often, that prior to the Second Council of Constantinople in 553 AD. I won't say the claim bothers me, just that I've wanted to fact-check this ...

Re: What happens when you die?

From the issue that started the whole ball of wax for me and turned me from an atheist-leaning Newtonian determinist agnostic to getting to stuff I really couldn't explain - really looking at the NDE stuff - was where the train from NDE to mediums, new age to deeper new age, then full read of bible ...

Pathworking - Magician on Aleph?

I just ordered the Oswald Wirth deck as well as another more specialized, ie. Masonic Tarot, that's had a hook on me from the moment I saw it (was more a matter of when than if). The thing I'm noticing is there tends to still be a pretty stable current of cards that place the Fool on Shin, Magician ...

Re: traditional mystery folder?

It really all depends on the allocation slots of the forum itself and whether it's worth making a folder I suppose. Perhaps a 'Mysticism' under Faith & Philosophy with all the WMT stuff as subheader? One jumble is that there's also a 'Christian mystics' subheader but it's under the banner of the...

Beating social paranoia

One of the things I love about the growth prospect in attempts to climb toward higher self or gain initiation across the 25th, 26th, and 24th paths respectively is the work of constantly improving love, improving mental health, and decreasing internal conflict. It could be said that even if there we...

traditional mystery folder?

Hi all! I haven't been here that long and I wouldn't go trying to change things unless I was just offering an opinion that a lot of the old timers could count as another vote with their own. I was wondering whether you guys ever had, previously, a 'western mystery tradition' or 'western/eastern trad...

Re: CC Zain 'Egyptian' deck

I found a link for the BOL on this page [but there is a pop up that annoyed me on it too...] http://green-door.narod.ru/zaintarot.html Yeah, I saw that too - both the sight and the pop up, got the fear of computer-HIV though and left promptly. Funny you should list aeclectic.net, I was researching ...

CC Zain 'Egyptian' deck

I don't know if this is the right folder for this particular question - it's tarot related but I'm using the cards more specifically for symbolic study and meditation. My question - I noticed a lot of usage by various tarot students of the CC Zain White Brotherhood of Light Egyptian Tarot and admitt...

Re: Gender-bending the Archangels

That makes a lot of sense. I know by Kether duality is utterly synthesized. Being the early an patriarchal version I'm sure the all-male attributions might have been more than a little deliberately skewed already (exoteric reading of the story of the garden of evil tends to debate that human gender ...

Gender-bending the Archangels

A month or two ago I was looking for some good pathworking cds or mp3's that I could DIY with, not much out there but I did find Tabitha Cicero's workings of everything up through Netzach and 27th path. It brought up a question; I notice that GD decided to make Sandalphon and Uriel women, also made ...

Re: Skyrim vs Occultism

So if showing what occultism is and isn't, teaching what is fact and fiction isn't education then I don't know what is. Keep up the ad hominems, but I only debate valid points. I don't know that I'd make that bold a claim again about what I know or don't know having confronted what I have in the la...

Re: Skyrim vs Occultism

I'm not sure I understand the point of this thread. What exactly are you getting at? The separation between occult magick and fictional magic. That's pretty much what I figured. I think some would still argue that there is a sacred/divine/transcendental magic that goes on a higher arc somewhere bet...

Re: Skyrim vs Occultism

Skyrim [/b] - trapping souls - destruction magic - resurrecting the dead - invisibility - magic potions - vampirism - werewolves - weapon enchanting - recieving awesome gifts from divines - conjured weapons (big win for cargo and stamina) Occultism [/b] - using mythology for cognitive modification ...

Re: Accurate kabbalah resources

I'm a bit new to the Kabbalah/Cabalah/Qabalah topic but from what I'm reading it seems like it's a constantly evolving system. About all you really can do is learn the symbolism, read as much as you can on the nuts and bolts of how it conceptually fits together, have a few or many mystical experienc...

I heard playing Christian Contemporary at a low volume 24/7 for a few days is a pretty good way to get astral trolls/trollops back at their own game.

Re: New Age v Occult

The way they tend to ring from what reading I've been able to do is that occultism is more classical, new age is more non-traditional and non-classical. If a person has an awakening these days and is not particularly read on the western mystery tradition they'll likely present it in somewhat of a ne...

Re: DXM and supernatural experiences

I'm unsure how much I took, dosage wise, but it was lots of small pink pills.I'll just tell the story and maybe you guys can help flesh out with the plateaus and suchlike,if that's ok? I think the only thing that can be explained somewhat easily: the line between 2nd and 3rd plateau has a whole psych...

Re: Returning Deities?

My guess is that the current neopagan revival is helping old astral forms that weren't being employed quite as much in the more exclusively Christian era and returning them to a more wide-spread use. It at least makes some sense when people like Dion Fortune make the assertion that polytheism was ou...

Re: Returning Deities?

Hello Cybernetic_Jazz, Mother Ayahuasca is a deva. I would not think that she is identified with Isis. I somehow have in mind that Isis had an archaic association with the blue lotus. This was used by the Egyptian priest class as an hallucinogenic so she may have been a deva onto whom other images ...

Re: DXM and supernatural experiences

For what it's worth I used to play with it a little, the highest I ever went was maybe 720mg which was low 3rd plateau (for a guy of 90kg) and I'd swear my first experiences with feeling subtle energies in my body, ear ringing and popping, and non-physical spine wobbles was with that. I should perh...

Re: DXM and supernatural experiences

Using drug induced experiences to formulate anything more than concepts and symbols is dangerous. Nobody saw heaven or hell, nobody went to the Hall of Two Truths, nobody talked to angels... what people DID do is trip our from rapid and intense chemical reactions in their brain and then interpret t...
