Madame Marie is now in session.

Post by Desecrated »

One of the requests for the future was some sort of divination, so I have decided to take on the role as Madame Marie every Friday. (Although it is technically Sunday today).

ANYWAY.

The oracle of Madame Marie is a dice divination system I found in the 1 dollar bin at the 'red cross' and is about as serious as a magic eightball. HOWEVER, I have found that it can actually give some pretty good answers from time to time.

So here is the deal. You ask me anything. I roll the dice and tell you what the oracle says.
Every Friday, free of charge, take it as serious as you want, have fun.

How deeply can it answer? Is it YES/NO/MAYBE only?

So we can ask our first question today? I think it's nice to have a rule one user = one question per week. Just so you don't get an overload of questions. XD

The oracle always gives a number and a one sentence answer. Each question has 12 different possible answers.

That makes sense, but I think the more interesting part is that I got the number "80"!
8: Infinity
0: Eternity

I talk/write about these frequently; they are a big part of my ideology!

Good one! [grin] [thumbup]

That is why I wanted to include the numbers, I know there is a lot of people here into numerology and synchronicity.
It might not always make sense to me, but the person asking the question might know what to do with that information.

Great initiative! The very act of formulating one's question seems valuable, so here it goes.

In the recent past I have ignored good career opportunities that were attainable, to pursue more risky possibilities that seemed appealing in my mind. I then discovered that the fear of being disappointed and a nauseating feeling of inadequacy held me back from even trying to execute on those ideas, which only reinforced the shame. After a period of much needed self-examination, I have begun to face these issues.

Now, I just received a message from a friend, letting me know about a likely opening for a position that is similar to the ones I rejected before. I quite feel like going for it: it would offer me the freedom to work on things I am very much interested in, as well as a supportive and challenging social environment, a good foundation to branch out from professionaly, and a few years of financial security. I might not even end up getting it, although it would probably be good for me. On the other hand, it requires a lot of commitment and leaves me not much time to invest in other things. Limiting myself feels difficult, but I realise that the alternative of not focussing on one thing is much more limiting in practice.

Anyway, I find myself caught up in self-doubt about my own motives: have I been chasing some fantasies before, so I could avoid reality? - or am I about to settle for something because I haven't summoned the courage to go after the improbable and less pre-defined goals? Both stories about myself seem equally plausible, at different times, but they prescribe opposite actions. So how can I best choose which 'story' to own and which choice to make?

Will I win the competition I've applied to on 01.12.2016?

The results are coming within a month, I can't wait anymore. [crymore]
