If my memory serves, this may constitute "ritual begging", and is against the rules. Not trying to scare you off, but you may just want to be more wary of it in the future. I'll double-check the rules after this post.
As far as 'warding off evil'; is there a particular reason why you need such a thing? I've never been of the experience that evil goes out of its way to harass random denizens. I suppose if you truly needed some kind of protective icon, I'd personally find something of deep significance to you, and consecrate it as you see fit. But depending on your situation, that may not be the best advice.
Could you offer any more details?
EDIT: Ah, pity. From the Rules.

Again, I'm no mod, so it's at your discretion whether or not to change the nature of your thread. In your defense, this could easily turn into a discussion.NO SPELL BEGGING OR POSTING SPELLS.
The posting of rituals and spells is only allowed under the condition that it is for discussion purposes. Please keep all other spell posts to PM.

This member was banned. Not for spell begging (that's only a minor offense), but for a mass deletion of posts, including the original here. If anyone wishes to continue the dialogue, however, feel free.

Well, my initial suggestion to him was going to be something of personal significance, along the lines of a "medicine bag". I don't know anything about crystals, nor am I particularly qualified to lecture on methods of adhering magical properties to inorganic materials.
So which do you folk think would be more effective as a protective talisman?
Something made specifically for the job, or something more along the lines of a 'good luck charm', which no particular magic working involved?

For me, specifics always work best, but usually don't last as long. Generalities for "luck" or whatever are okay. It really depends on what you use (that DOES need to suit you and the purpose) and the amount of energy you put into it.

Those hoping to get their hands on an iPad 2 early Friday will have to wait a few more hours. Retailers confirmed today that the next-generation Apple tablet will be available starting at 5pm local time.
"Be the first to get the next iPad. This Friday, March 11, at 5:00pm," Apple wrote in a Wednesday e-mail. "The Apple Retail Store is the best place to experience iPad. Our Specialists will show you around the features, help you choose the perfect model, and set everything up just the way you like. So you'll be up and running before you leave the store."
For iPad enthusiasts who do not live near an Apple Store, Best Buy and Target will also be selling the tablet starting at 5pm.
"The #iPad2 goes on sale at 5pm local time on 3/11/11 @Target! We'll pencil-in downloading the Target app at 5:01 pm," Target tweeted this week.
Best Buy said it will carry black and white Wi-Fi versions as well as Wi-Fi+3G options for AT&T and Verizon. They will be available in-store only; Best Buy said on its FAQ page that a pre-order option will not be available.
The retailer will offer two Geek Squad Black Tie Protection (GSBTP) plans: standard and accidental damage from handling. Both plans are good for three years; pricing depends on the plan selected.
The iPad 2 is also eligible for Best Buy's Buy Back Program. Customers pay $69.99 for a two-year insurance policy of sorts. In that time period, customers may receive up to 50 percent of the product's original purchase price paid in the form of a Best Buy gift card, valid for six months.
If shoppers buy GSBTP and Buy Back at the same time, Best Buy said customers will save 50 percent on the price of Buy Back.http://www.cheappound.info/ipad/10.gif
