she was never there for comfort
buried in her head i dug out from under
the gasp for air how i came to
unaware this was only a prelude
the pieces fit snugly
a big picture that revealed how she can be ugly
but was ignored as it lay before the sun
this whole time i though was in fun

i lost myself in the man-made mazes
in the quest of the big cheese
my instinct was my own worst enemy
i sought her out but i was at fault
next time i know better to take with a grain of salt
or a whole shaker and toss it over my shoulder
