What I call "occult folk"...

Post by witchpriest »

These are some tunes I have recorded. I am a street performer, and use music for spell and energy work in the city, kind of meditation to focus my magic.

I call this my occult folk [yay]

Well damn, aren't you the all around fantastic artist? I'm only just listening to your demo now, but I already love it. It reminds me a lot of Muriel's sitar song from Courage the Cowardly Dog.
I also really love your freaking coat.

Thanks for the compliments! In the other thread people were talking about making music for rituals. Got me thinking. I made the following quickly, but I may actually make an album for my rituals. Tell me what you think. Made for trance and meditation.

Personally, for me, you used too high of sounds, overall. However, the entire style and design of the piece is pretty fantastic. I'm just not a fan of anything that rings in my brain. The picture of the angel gives me a very good image of this track.
About 1:47 the sounds were actually intense enough to my my eardrums ache, and they occasionally peak out in my head. Slightly uncomfortable.
I got rocking to the background without even realizing it.
I can't tell if it's your music or me, but I can hear a heartbeat as I listen to it as well.
For a first track, it's a lot better than I would do. But like I said, it's just too "active", and that's still only barely a good enough word. It doesn't help me clear my mind very well, but I'm sure I could use it to journey with, especially if I got my body active and exhausted before hand.

So, in a final word, it's pretty good, just not for my personal use.

Yeah this was not made for anyone else's use. It was just inspired by the talk about occult mind framing music. I will practice more techniques and styles until I get something that I can use in my rituals. Thanks for the response though! There is no heartbeat sound in that track so you are hearing that on your end. Thanks for giving it a listen!

That's kinda trippy then. I swear the heart beating was coming from the computer.
I've been wanting to design some tracks for my own meditation, but I don't nearly have the skills needed to make what my brain has thought out. Music is a powerful thing, and there's no doubt that music alone can influence a person without them knowing more powerfully than any other mundane thing.

A new track, in this act I play strings and accordion, and sometimes we have belly dancers.

Some song clips from the above mentioned act.

This is me out busking, doing some energy work, but then this happened and I was so amused I lost focus [tongue2]

Thanks for any feedback!

I'm listening to your soundcloud now. Amazing stuff! I really enjoy it, and it definitely puts me in a good mindset for Work. Keep making music!

I'm wondering, would you ever be willing to make some of this material available for download?

Thanks for the interest Yex!

I am recording an album that will be free to stream, but will be available for purchase. I will post that information as soon as everything is set in stone. I will mostly be playing Klezmer and Roma styles, kinda the later shamanic styles of improvisation for Eastern Europe. If you found that work resonated with you, I am also printing cds. If you would write a review here on the forum, I will gladly send a signed copy (which will feature some of my occult art as well). PM your address if you have time to write your thoughts about it and a free copy is yours!

Hope the craft is blessing you,

After a lot of thinking and many tarot readings I decided to end some projects and head in a new direction. SO, most of my links above are now dead. Sorry, not meant to be spam, just removed the pages and such.
