Automatic lock on old threads

Post by Desecrated »

Threads that have been inactive for more then 90 days should be automatically closed. This prevents necrobumping.

I understand if there are other threads/posts explaining the information that people are looking for, but why is Necroposting bad? If there is someone with a fresh understanding of old material or needing clarification on a point, how would that be a negative?

99.9% of the time, the discussion is already over and who ever posts in it months later is just beating a dead horse or spamming.
Never in the history of this forum have I ever seen anything good come out of necrobumping.
