I am learning AP using the Llewellyn Publications method (Denning and Phillips). They mention "dead times" when one should not project AS. These are during the waning Moon and for 3 days after a New Moon and between 21st Ded and 21st March. A quick calculation shows that that leaves ony ~99 days per year on which one can perform AP.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this, also what is the general opinion on Denning and Phillips method? I have employed it before but only so far as to send out a Watcher, with some effect.

Re: Astral Projection and the "Dead Time"
I've never heard of anything of the sort, and although I haven't managed controlled projection, I've read enough of the theory on the subject from experienced projectors that I imagine I would have come across the concept before were it a real thing. Of course I could be wrong, but when individuals whom I consider authorities like Bardon, Monroe, Caudill, Bruce, etc. have never suggested that anything of the sort exists, I tend to be skeptical.
Llewellyn in general tends to be hit and miss with the quality of their authors. They're very commercial, and tend to publish what will sell well instead of necessarily choosing their authors based on quality.
Did they explain why these "Dead Time" are supposed to be dangerous/unusable?

Re: Astral Projection and the "Dead Time"
Hi Rin and thanks for posting. Apparently the "energies" of the Sun and Moon are at a low ebb during these times.
Maybe I need to research other methods.

Re: Astral Projection and the "Dead Time"
I don't see any reason solar/lunar energies being at a low ebb should discourage one from AP - although as I said, I don't have any experience with controlled projection, so I'm not exactly an expert.
I'd highly recommend checking out those sources I mentioned if you're looking for more information on astral projection from practitioners with in-depth experience and understanding of the phenomena.

Re: Astral Projection and the "Dead Time"
There are macrocosmic environmental happenings of all kinds where, during certain times or at certain places, certain types of magic or certain abilities require a bit more effort than normal - just as there are times and places where certain types of magic are easier to perform. The reasons for all that is a bit more complicated than what can be discussed in a single forum post, because it requires understanding the nature and operations of the macrocosm itself. And that either requires extensive, dense volumes or many years of meditation.
But those times and places are most certainly not "dead" to a properly trained practitioner. Being subdued by environmental conditions only means that your personal skills and internal development are lacking.
