Identifying a violent and secretive cult group?

So I read this article or case about a guy who got attacked by a very secretive cult who are known for committing crimes, stealing/kidnapping and killing animals before drawing the symbol provided below on them which is also found on their robes, trying to kill people or inflict violence. Just out of curiosity this was the symbol they used. Anybody have any idea here? Police have been searching for them for awhile and they are estimated to have dozens of people or something. Think they worship some kind of malevolent entity? Symbol they used is below and they inhabit isolated places/forests, carry illegal weapons and wear hooded robes. In one case they charged with bottles at this guy's van/truck and fired shots after he changed his tire due to finding a knife in it.

What could a group of cult practioners be using it for then? Why scratch it onto a killed cat and dress in hooded robes while trying to shoot or attack a group of people with a truck?

Pretty sure this group doesn't even exist. That article sounds more like some pro-christian propaganda then reality.

It does read as propaganda. We used to call these people 'dregs', ironically, as most of them were also trustafarians, at least hereabouts and they were a fringe part of a greater Anarchist movement at the time.

They can engage in direct action, yes, but never against animals.

That is the whackiest bit of this story: vegan animal rights activists attacking animals. [crazy] [question2] [confused2]

Eh I found the story in a video when I was researching about cults/did a quick search and clicked. In a couple of these videos that is interesting/the gold I struck is that some who are occult orders can get beings to manifest through sounds. The Jim Jones one, everyone knows about but what I found interesting in the research were the first four in this video I came across:

It's like the old Satanic Panic from the 80's all over again, liberally sprinkled with the "powerz of the interwebz" where every low-life can be its own special little star.
