magick in the media

I hope this is the right place for this. I wasn't sure. I was wondering why in movies and books and video games it seems like they never have a realistic magick system. Is there any particular reason why writers don't ever use actual magick? like an actual enochian spirit or something? Harry potter first semester could be herbology 101, alchemy 101, astrology 101, qabalah 101, and ritual 101. Off the top of my head the only accurate depictions of magick I think I've seen are in the book zanoni, and the manga Berserk.
