Just watched the whole thing. I say we all lie down and do nothing.

Let them censor what they want. We'll just move on to I2P.

Megaupload was taken down earlier this week by the FBI (http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press- ... fringement and then Anonymous retaliated by hacking several government sites (http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-501465_162- ... body-wins/).

Anonymous just effectively screwed over the protests that occurred on Wednesday. There's going to be a backlash and now SOPA and PIPA probably have more of a chance of passing.

As for that "Black March", that's a relatively silly idea to me. Ruining a good portion of the economy isn't going to help the protests against SOPA and PIPA. It can actually be damaging to the economy and to the protests, and this isn't the right time to do anything that might affect the economy. The economy already sucks as is. This is assuming people are actually going to participate. I highly doubt it. People like their entertainment.

A boycott is hard due to our countries (USA) success depends on it. It is a system where anything you do against it will ultimately hurt you more then them.

Luckily this one didn't pass, but the industry will try push it through again slightly reworded in a year or two, they've been doing it for decades, and every time it almost passes until someone realizes the implications, makes it public and there's a huge furor.
"The path of the Sage is called
'The Path of Illumination'
he who gives himself to this path
is like a block of wood
that gives itself to the chisel-
cut by cut it is honed to perfection"

- DDJ, Verse 27

"It's still magic even if you know how it's done." - Terry Pratchett
