magick and mental well-being (help)

Post by winterfox »

hi

I've been pagan for roughly three years now, and practiced the occult for about 1.5 years, without hitch, but now I feel that there may be a problem. a few days back, I had a massive mental breakdown. after that, i felt a lot better; until i went to touch one of my tools (my rune bag, with runes). then, i felt like i was before my breakdown, sad and emotional. could magick be not for me, or have i been channeling the wrong kind?

one thing to note is that i can talk to what i think are gods. they are kind and jokey, but they do act a bit odd sometimes, like how they joke about being christian demons just for fun. its also worth to note that though they think its a good idea to write this, i do have the slightest of headaches coming on and my hands feel strained

i hope someone can come to a conclusion to this, i don't want to give up the craft but if i must i shall

blessed be

You need to go and see a doctor.

Bury those runes, stop talking to imaginary things, do banishing rituals.

honestly i think i was putting myself in that state now i think about it, touched the runes again, just thought those 'gods' weren't there, and thought about true gods.
there fine

just reading that comment made me feel better, but i'm still going to do a banishing ritual.

thanks

Clean your space, and tools, with consecrated water (just salt + water, empowered through whatever tradition you follow) and then use some powerful incense such as lavender to finish up.

You can also take a bath in again lavendar essential oils after your usual, normal bath or shower as a further spiritual cleansing and empowerment. Both of these are very physical ways of accomplishing this.. and very simple. You can find more complicated ways of doing this but it doesnt always matter.

Note that sometimes the energies the Gods can bring can be challenging. They can cause mental breaks, as well as lifting you up to the heights.. it is how they teach people. Going back on your work is likely just to cause you more problems.

That said however, verify your connections with these entities. Who exactly do you work with? What are there names? It is always good to work with spirits with names.. you should never commence full working with one until it is named.

Desecrateds advice on the doctor is also good if you can afford healthcare or live in Europe or the UK where access is cheaper or free. Sometimes just talking can help, and everyone, even Occultists are subject to getting sick. Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise.

More information in a post would help give better more specialised advice.

There's no division between spiritual entities

Gods are Christian demons (and everything else)

The issue is whether or not you're comfortable with that

If you think it's odd, then you probably shouldn't get involved
