Great article!
These might also apply to magick as well, I've been kind of fascinated with something called "deliberate practice" for a few years.

It definitely applies to magick, but try with the original method first and then build upon it by adding elements to it that add to it, and don't dilute it or make it confusing. If you're not going to increase the goal over time, then aim for thirty minutes. What we're practicing here becomes the ability to achieve gnosis, so we then will be reducing it once we get further along through Liber MMM so as to achieve absolute motionlessness quickly, centre yourself through the breathing exercise, then use the ability to reduce the mind down to a single point of focus gained through no mind to achieve a gnostic state.

Adding to a system you haven't fully explored dilutes the experience, like if you buy a games console and fifty games, then bounce around a bunch of games you like, never really finishing them or gaining the required skills to the degree you would through the repetition of focusing on just one thing at a time. Goethe said 'Everything is hard before it is easy', and you can read the statement two ways, either that You can't assume that you will be good at anything first try, but also that all things must begin before they can get better. Start with the basics, build upon them, add to them as you conquer them. Setting goals and then achieving them creates a morale boost, and shows progress, celebrating each small achievement. Consistency is definitely the key, so the idea behind Deliberate Practice could be a very applicable one for what we are trying here [thumbup]

Good to have you on board [thumbup]

Today I started using a talking stopwatch app, which is great for not losing all sense of time during motionlessness. It announces the elapsed time every 30 sec.

Went 7.45 minutes sitting, eyes closed, but snapped out of it when I drooled a bit from not swallowing (magick is so glamorous!)

Tried again laying down, eyes closed, and got to 15 min only moving once (my teeth parted).

Getting very close to zero moves.

I was wondering today about relative vs absolute motionlessness. Like if a Saint Bernard decided to come over and lean against me during practice should I lean back to counter, which is technically activity, but for the sake of overall stillness, or let it push me over like a garbage can, which is technically motion but still totally inanimate.

I don't have a Saint Bernard. These are just things I ponder.

I just practiced again today (sitting legs folded, eyes closed) without the intent to stop at 15. Made it to 25 minutes motionless before i finally decided to swallow and get back to work.

Motionless for 17 minutes today before a thumb twitch did me in.

My mind did wander a bit, but only a bit before I focused back on passively observing my own motionless body. No long trains of thought.

The best position I have found for this so far is sitting, legs folded but not lotus, hands on knees. I lean forward very slightly and tilt my head down very slightly. I part my teeth but not my lips, and place the tip of my tongue on the roof of my mouth.

Not a lot of me time today so I just did 15 minutes around a lot of distractions. Was not able to stay perfectly still as I swallowed like 4 times. Better than missing practice.

Another very busy day with almost no free time. Did a quick 15min motionless in the car between errands.

You're doing really well Cam, keep it up - brilliant progress and wonderful to see such dedication. When I worked for someone else I would sometimes use my lunch hour for LiberMMM, finding a quiet spot under a tree, in the sun. This isn't a form of meditation for relaxation, this is about self control - as others such as EternalReturn have noted, LiberMMM gives you a certain increased degree of control over your body and mind, and is a very good addition to any paradigm of magical practice.
