Book on alchemy and phases of the magician?

Post by LoneWolf »

Any good book on alchemy and the Magnum Opus?

I seek one that explains and makes me think about the phases of development of the individual and the stages of its growth and transformation; nigredo, albedo, rubedo. And expanded further: Calcination, Solution, Separation, etc. etc. Until developing oneself to the most supreme potential.

Regards

So far the best book on the subject I have found is 'The golden chain of homer'. (I have a longer review on the book on this website but just to summon it up quickly):
It cover the terms you are looking for and explain them in fairly good detail, and it covers the great opus in depth.

However, It isn't exactly a "how to"-book. It is, after all, an old grimoire.

But that is my recommendation. Hopefully somebody on this forum can recommend something a bit more modern.

If you want a book more towards the goals and education of a sage (magician) nothing really beats The Picatrix and Agrippas 3 books of occult philosophy.

What about The secret of the golden flower, translantion by Richard Willhelm. Chinese Taoists spiritual alchemy book. Is free on net in pdf. Beginning the work is similar like Indian chakra yoga, but there are different terms.

try A-Ma Alchemy of Love: https://www.amazon.com/Ma-Ms-Natasa-Nui ... 9995754193
It is a fiction story full of alchemy tips, insights, wisdom. I found it the best as an inspiring intro to the world of alchemy, its phases, and its application. Truly a worthy discovery!
