Cronus/Kronos(Saturn), any experiences?

Post by Liberator »

Has anybody had any experiences with the deity Kronos/Cronus, worshiped by the Romans and honored as the god 'Saturn' associated with prosperity? The 'mythology' is as follows, Kronos/Chronos was not 'forever put in Tartarus' but he was forgiven and eventually released to be the governor of the Fortunate Isles. He did not try to eat his children merely out of being an 'asshole' but because it was foretold in a prophecy that one of his children would overthrow him, as he overthrew his father Uranus. Kronos/Cronus governed paradise where the 'blessed/hallowed dead' go and reside after death or enter from there on, and Zeus governed Olympus and the affairs concerning the world. Both are 'bearded' gods, but Kronos/Cronus is portrayed as wearing a cloak or tunic and carrying a sickle in a similar manner to a shepherd. The Lion is also a major symbolic animal for Cronus apparently.

Beforehand it was said that Kronos/Cronus governed a time known as the golden ages, a period when nobody ever needed compete for resources to survive and no laws were needed to prevent crime. Humans sprang from the Earth according to the 'mythology' during that time, all that they could desire was given to them and many great things/wonders were created or worked during those ages. It was for this very reason the Romans worshiped Cronus/Kronos and renamed him or decided to use him as inspiration for 'Saturn', during the festival celebrating him slaves were allowed to temporarily participate alongside all other Romans as equals.

The Hellenists did not do much for Cronus as the Romans did apparently, if Saturn was infact the same as Kronos/Cronus. The Temple of Saturn was used for awhile as also a treasury to hold the wealth of the empire apparently: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturn_(mythology)

Meant to add alongside Fortunate Islands, also the Elysian Fields.
