What are synchronizities? - an essey

Post by OneOfFourth »

This essey outlines my current understanding and view on synchronizities. Most of this information was obtained using the techniques described in this essey and they are fast and easy to learn.

What are synchronizities?

Have you ever thought of a question or asked one aloud and immediately someone on TV or radio said something which was an answer to your question? Have you noticed same numbers appearing to you when you start thinking of some specific topic? Or maybe some repeating number just keeps persistently appearing to you regardless of what you are doing? Maybe some sudden sound stole your attention when arriving at the right solution for a dilemma you’ve had lately? Or maybe you’ve been struggling with something and a song suddenly starts playing and the lyrics give you advice on how to get out of your situation? These are all examples of synchronizities happening in your life. You could easily brush off these kinds of events as random freak occurences, but once you start observing synchronizities, you start noticing tons of them all the time. And they’re usually helping you.

Synchronizities happen when something in the universe sends you a guiding message. They can happen at any time and most often when you aren’t actively looking for them, unless you have trained yourself to receiving them. Almost always they give guidance or encouragement so you can get through difficult situations in your life. So what is this “something” that sends you these messages through synchronizities? To answer this, let’s first take a look at what would be required to make them happen in the first place.

Imagine sitting in a café, thinking of some problem you’ve had for quite awhile. Suddenly someone at the next table says something in a loud voice. Almost immediately you realize what you heard is the solution to your problem. Quite a few random occurences had to happen just right before you could experience this coincidence.

First of all you and the people at the next table had to be at the same place at the same time. Your thoughts had to be thinking of a very specific topic at the right moment so you would recognize the helpful message from the table next to you. For your thoughts to wander to the right topic at the right time, your friend needed to be a bit late from the meeting or you would never have started thinking of this topic at all while in the café. For your friend to be late, there would had to be a traffic jam at the right time. For the people to start talking about the right topic, who knows what was required to happen, etc. You can easily go further and further down this chain of required coincidences that eventually lead you to hearing the message the way you did and at the moment you did.

Lots of things have to happen just right so you can experience synchronizities. As synchronizities happen all the time (whether you notice them or not) AND since they are actually helping you, they cannot be completely random coincidences. Thus they cannot be explained away as purely psychological phenomenon of a person simply noticing random events after learning about them.

So something has to machinate those events into your life. Notice that the above synchronizity example had to touch several people’s lives before it could happen. Now imagine that every single person on Earth gets to experience all kinds of synchronizities several times a day if they simply choose to notice them. This would mean that an incredibly complex global network of coincidences would need to happen just right, every single day throughout the whole history, for every single person in the world, for synchronizities to work for all of us, every single day. And that seems to be the case.

For this to be possible, you need to start thinking outside of our regular experience of time. If you could observe our whole history like a comic book and browse it’s pages back and forth like any other comic book, you could easily decide to add or remove things from any of the comic panels to adjust the overall story. This would give you the power to make all kinds of things happen to the characters in the comic, at the time of your choosing. So whatever is making these synchronizities happen in our lives, needs to have a similar ability; to experience all of our history at the same time so it can adjust things accordingly.

Many religions, mystics and occultists are of the opinion that humans have Free Will, which genuinely enables all of us make our own personal choices in our lives. So how could it be possible for us to make meaningful decisions while something in the universe seems to have the above mentioned power to machinate and tweak all the things happening in our lives? Shouldn’t any Free Will based decision ruin tons of coincidence required to make synchronizities work? If every person who ever lived truly had Free Will, wouldn’t that ruin all of the synchronizities? Turns out it’s possible to have all of this working in perfect harmony.

Imagine again having the power to experience our history outside of time, like browsing a comic book. As all the characters in your comic book need to have Free Will, you can’t just tell them what to do in each panel. Instead you use one of following options:

1. Observe what decision the character makes in one of the panels.
2. Ask the character’s mind/soul what decision it is going to make in the situation it is in one of the panels.

Now you’re free to adjust non sentient things in the character’s past and future to make the character run into the synchronizity of your choice. Past events can be used to remind the character about things that require attention at specific moments. Future events can be adjusted so the character has a fair chance of making a good choice when the opportunity arises. You can also use these adjustments to change the character’s story so it never goes through that specific comic book panel, but has a very different situtation at that moment in time. Now do this to every human who ever lived and will ever live and you have the big plan of synchronizity coincidences laid out.

Notice that this should obviously apply to all sentient beings in the whole universe. To pull this off at any scale, let alone the whole universe, you would need god like powers and ways of observation and thinking to machinate all this. And that’s the answer to what is making synchronizities happen. You can call it The Universe/God/Source or whatever you feel comfortable with. It doesn’t matter in the end. All that matters is that you need such all encompassing powers of mind, observation and machination to make synchronizities happen as they are happening to us every day. It is up for debate if this all encompassing intelligence is only responsible for creating the plan and some lesser forms of spirits or entities actually implement the plan. In the end it doesn’t make much of a difference to us, since the result is that we get the same synchronizities which we can observe every day. My personal observation and opinion is that synchronizities are implemented by lesser spirits or entities according to the plan laid out by The Universe. As they say: everything happens for a reason so there are no coincidences. This is also what the traditional Spiritual Laws say about things happening in your life:

1. Whatever happened is the only thing that could have happened.
2. The person that comes into your life is the right person.
3. Whenever something begins, it’s the right time.
4. Whenever something ends, it’s over.

So in a nutshell, synchronizities are sent to you by The Universe/God/Source most probably using your spirit guides. They guide you to your chosen path/destiny if you let them. All you need to do is start observing the messages you receive through synchronizities and to heed their advice. Be happy and understand that synchronizities are your personal direct link to communicating with The Universe/God/Source and you don’t even need to pray to get your answers. You can always ask questions and get your answers and guidance if you simply observe the synchronizities. Everything required to make this happen is already inside you. Each and everyone of us was born with the ability to communicate via synchronizities. This ability has always belonged to everyone.

If synchronizities have been available to people throughout the whole history, why isn’t everyone aware of them? Sadly there have always been people who wanted to usurp all spiritual abilities for themselves. Those who have tried to hide synchronizities from the general public most probably wanted to have God (or whatever you wish to call it) all for themselves; the biggest heist in the history of humankind. If you think about it for a second, would the whole universe be created for a tiny subset of humans living on a single planet? Obviously not, since that would make no sense at all. The Universe/God/Source does not belong to a small group of thieves, but to everyone. Hence also synchronizities belong to everyone, as they were meant for direct guidance in each of our own lives.

I’m convinced ancient cultures knew tons about synchronizity techniques and used them when they said they were looking for signs from gods. Most traditional divination techniques could easily count as variations of synchronizity techniques: instead of looking for synchronizity messages from random sources, they created tools which could produce those same messages.

Synchronizity techniques

The simplest form of synchronizity message is exactly like a person ringing a bell every time he/she wants you to hear the answer “Yes”.

You: “Should I avoid discussing that topic of conversation?”
Synchronizity: “Ding!” (Yes)

You: “I wonder if I should take the job offer I received yesterday…”
Synchronizity: “Ding ding!” (Yep!)

You: “I feel lost. Am I even on the right track with my life so I can be happy one day?”
Synchronizity: “Ding!” (Yes you are)

You: “OMG! So that thing must mean that someone did something like that also in the past!”
Synchronizity: “Ding ding!” (Yep, you’re right!)

The “Ding!” sound could be any form of sudden auditory or visual change which somehow pops out of its own environment in a way which feels intuitively meaninful to you. We’ll get back to this a bit later.

Communicating with synchronizities feels like when you’re thinking aloud about something and a friend of yours occasionally comments on your train of thought. Obviously with synchronizities you don’t actually need to speak aloud, but just think of the topic casually. You don’t want to force the process. Just do your regular thinking, but at the same time semi-passively observe audio and visual stimuli you’re receiving. Fairly quickly you start noticing patterns to them and some of the stimuli intuitively draw your attention much more than the others. These are usually the synchronizities. Remember that the more you force the process, the less accurately you’ll be able to notice the real messages. Just let your mind “get in the zone” of receiving the audio-visual stimuli and let it happen. This could usually take a bit of “tuning in” before you to start noticing and feeling the synchronizities. Then again sometimes they are so blatantly obvious that everyone around you also takes notice and comments on the coincidence that just happened. The more experience you get, the quicker and easier it will be to “get in the zone” and to also receive those blatantly obvious messages. Depending on how in tune you happen to be, you could even have a near real time conversation with your synchronizities, given that you’re OK with receiving only fairly simple answers.

One technique of receiving auditory synchronizity messages is to first close your eyes. Then clear your mind in a meditative manner and concentrate only on what you’re hearing. Then ask a question in your mind while at the same time still concentrating on listening. Listen to every little detail on the incoming sounds. Did you clearly hear something that intuitively felt like it jumped out at you? That’s probably your synchronizity signal. Also keep in mind that synchronizities can often send their messages before you have a chance to finish your sentence. This is because whatever is answering you already knows what you’re about to ask. Telepathic communication doesn’t require you to use words; the context of your question is obvious to whatever is answering you. Also as described earlier, many of the answer might be planned ahead of time.
Once you get more experience and in tune with synchronizities and your own intuition, you might start receiving these messages internally. Then you’re entering the world of shamanism; communing with spirits through your own internal world. Don’t worry though: synchronizities are almost always sent to you by benevolent entities. Different cultures like to call these entities spirit guides, guardian angels, ancestors, etc.

So auditory synchronizity messages can arrive as simple signals indicating “Yes!”. The other way is to receive a clear sentence from your environment, while thinking of a problem. The message could be delivered to you by someone sitting in cafe at the table next to you, as decribed earlier in this essey. It could also be something someone says on TV. Regardless from where the message arrives to you, you should intuitively feel that the sentence you heard was had more to it than it being just a random occurence. It must also feel to be clearly related to the topic you had in mind.

The above can also happen visually. Instead of hearing a sentence, you might see an advertisement or graffiti or an icon, which clearly states a solution or guidance to what you were thinking on that very moment. It might also feel like guidance to some problem you’re currently having but not thinking right at that moment.

You: “What should I do about this toothache?”
Synchronizity: Shows red cross icon to you, indicating that medical help would be a good idea.

You: “When was the last time I saw my best friend?”
Synchronizity: Shows you a book cover which says “She is avoiding you.”

You: “I don’t like my job…”
Synchronizity: Shows you a school ad saying “It’s never too late to study!”

More ways to recieve yes/no answers

The basic rule with synchronizities is that “contrasts between things highlight synchronizities”. So what does this mean in practise? It means that regardless of whichever way you receive a synchronizity, it always feels like popping out of its surroundings. Like when you walk along a clean white wall and suddenly there’s a dark sticker on that wall: it pops out. Likewise with a clean dark wall you suddenly notice a sticker that’s light in color: again it pops out equally well and feels out of place.

Same goes with you sitting in a train, looking at the forest gliding past your window. Suddenly there’s a really tall single tree among the rest of the forest and this catches your eye easily. Or maybe the height of the whole forest clearly changes all of a sudden. Or maybe the forest quickly turns into plain field. Or a field turns back into forest as the train moves along. Or you suddenly notice a wrecked car in the otherwise clean forest or maybe a lone person is standing in the bushes. Or a road cuts the otherwise thick forest. The possibilities are endless. Just observe when the anomaly in the visuals happens while you’re thinking of some specific topic in your mind. Your intuition should tell you if what you saw feels meaningful or not. It helps a lot if you’ve asked The Universe to start giving you guidance on the topic you’re about to start thinking. It’s likely that after a short while you start receiving guidance in the form of synchronizity messages. The more you get in tune with your synchronizities, the smaller “anomalies” start counting as messages to you.

Synchronizities can also come as emotions. For example one of the trees among the forest looks really fascinating and you feel a “Wow!” effect in you. This again is a clear synchronizity signal to you indicating “yes”. Also sudden movements can count as synchronizities.

Synchronizity message content

Synchronizities are always associated with some message. The messages can be much more complex than what has been described so far. So a simple “yes” signal is only a starting point.

Imagine you’re watching a horror movie. Immediately when the movie monster attacks on screen, you receive a text message from your friend. A bit later the monster attacks again and immediately you receive another text message, again from the same friend of yours. Shortly after this happens the third time. There’s a clear association with the monster attacks and the text messages you received from your friend. At this point it might be a good idea to assume that your friend might not have your best interests in mind while texting those messages, regardless of what their content is. This is an example of a synchronizity carrying a specific message with it.

Another technique is receiving meaningful messages through social media such as Youtube. You might notice that for some weird reason you start seeing Youtube thumbnails with messages written on them, which fit perfectly to some issue you’re having. Usually the content of those videos might be totally unrealated to your issue, but the text itself in the thumbnail fits it perfectly as guidance or problem solver for your situation.

So basically anything that has informational content can be turned into a synchronizity message source, one way or another. You just need to figure out how.

Designed message content

When you think about it, the “yes” type of messages are simply a mutually agreed on way of communication between you and The Universe. Thus those type of messages are used by synchronizities to communicate with you. If you decide to choose that a black cat is your power animal and it counts as a “You’re doing great! Believe in yourself and keep doing what you’re doing!” signal, then that’s what you suddenly start receiving when in a difficult situation. From this it’s easy to see that you can also decide on other types of messages. For example numbers or their combinations are a great way to send you information. Below are just a few ideas how you could use them:

19 = You’re wrong! Make strong reversal with your thought process or methods!
29 = You’re doing OK’ish. Adjust your direction or methods.
39 = You’re on the right track. Move forward but trust your own judgement and intuition. Don’t take risks.
49 = You’re on the right path. Keep doing what you’re doing.
59 = Ready! Done! You got it!

So when you’re thinking or doing something and suddenly see one or more number “19”, it could be The Universe telling you that you should rethink what you’re thinking or doing right at that moment. If you’re seeing one or more “49” instead, you would know that it’s a good idea to keep going.

You can decide to use whatever numbers you want. You can assign any meaning you want to them. For example assigning repeating numbers to the message “you’re doing the right things in your life” is a great way to get simple guidance. Repeating numbers being “11”, “111”, “11111”, “222”, “4444”, “888” and so on. If you decide to assign such a meaning to the repeating numbers, then don’t be actively looking for them. Just let them appear to you. If you start repeatedly and often seeing those numbers, you know you’re doing well.

Assigning lots of meanings to numbers gets you into a situation where you might start getting false messages. To get around this problem, it might be a good idea to combine numbers with other types of methods, such as colors or geometrical shapes. Then when you see numbers in combination of those colors or shapes, you know that those are your synchronizities. Then you don’t run into the problem of mistaking regular random numbers as your synchronizities. Notice that if you design this system wrong, you’re unlikely to run into synchronizities very often. The best way to combine numbers with other methods (that I can think of or have ran into) is to assign very specific meanings to every color, number or geometrical shape. Then the combinations can give you a wide range of very specific guidance.

For example, lets say you assign the following meanings to the colors:

Blue = You /Notice
Red = Me / Think
Green = Us / Realize
Yellow = Them / Learn

You also decide that in an image the largest area of color (usually the background color) is the first meaning, and the smaller area of color is the second meaning. Thus if you happen to see an image with large blue background with a yellow ear in the middle, that image could carry the meaning:

Blue = You
Yellow = Learn
Ear = people associate ears with listening

That could mean that “you learn by listening” or “start listening and you’ll learn”.

You could also assign very specific meanings to all kinds of icons, animals, every day objects, etc. This way when you receive colors, objects, shapes or even numbers in an image, you would receive fairly complex messages.

But this is where I end this essey. I encourage you to design your very own synchronizity system with your own meanings to help you through your life.

Positive synchronicities are common in good locations.

There are however places where adverse intelligences dominate and their synchronicities are adverse to positive humans. A spiritual friend lived in such an area. She learned that there: bad things come in threes.

That is true. I left out almost all the negative synchronizity stuff because I didn't want to scare everyone away from synchronizities. But positive synchronizities appear also in those negative/place locations. They don't cancel each other out. At least this is my experience.

My personal biggest negative experience with synchronizities is that they can be hijacked by adverse parties if they know how. Then you receive both those synchronizities mentioned in my essey as well as those extra synchronizities manipulated and sent to you by adverse parties. That feels quite confusing. I haven't figured out yet how to permanently get rid of the adverse ones.

Also while writing my original post, I realized there's tons more to synchronizity enabled techniques and mechanics of the universe. What you're essentially doing is programming the whole reality which is in contact with you to be more to your liking. I.e. you're telling The Universe to work in certain way with you. In theory there should be no difference to you deciding that "I will recognize adverse people by the color of magenta." Then every time you see someone wearing magenta clothing, or driving magenta car, or mentioning magenta to you, it's because of what you programmed the universe to do. That should follow the exact same rules and methods as described in my text, so I guess this should work also. Haven't tried though but I will. The only way I could call all this is "magick". The exact method I'll probably start calling "aligning the universe". I.e. when the universe is aligned with your instructions, it operates as you wanted it to.

Excellent excellent post OneofFourth - would you say there is a balance to be found between passivity and activity in this sort of work?

Would the process of designing synchronicity markers be dependent upon watching the natural cues that follow/proceed events then combining these with codes that speak to you to create specific powerful marker keys to make you really pay attention? Could meditation upon those marker keys then call forth the desired effects?

I'm also thinking that passive observance could help refine those marker keys further as certain elements gain promance and others become redundant - also new markers reveal themselves to be incorporated into new keys..?

There is an old story:

Long ago there was a rope hanging down from the clouds. When the farmers wanted rain, they pulled the rope and there was rain.

When they wanted the rain to stop, they pulled it again.

But as it happened they did not always agree and they pulled the rope so much that it broke.

I wonder if the universe knows that story.

Amor maybe the universe itself hid the rope so that only those who had really thought out their wish for rain/no rain (had visualised the consequences, knew exactly the area they wanted to effect and how long they wanted rain/no rain for) could see the rope? Maybe the universe realised that humans don't value what they haven't worked for and that giving them power to change /things without work, discipline and humility was a dangerous thing to do..

I used to be of the same thought you describe there. But the more I've given it thought and the more I've learned what's going on and what has happened in the history and the more I've communed with spirits, the more I'm convinced that synchronizity techniques (and much more) were integral part of every single human beings life a long time ago. Then it was stolen from people. This is why there are constant attacks in mass media against all things spiritual and religious, since spiritual/religious people are the ones who could figure out what's going on and what has been done to them. People are purposefully being handicapped on all skills and senses of esoteric and magickal. It's like making sure every baby gets their eyes and ears puctured so they don't work properly later in life. This in turn easily creates a divide with those people who have been handicapped on purpose and those who have gotten over it somehow and know/can use esoteric methods. Thus those in the know like to keep it a secret since it makes them special compared to the masses. People want to feel special and this creates bad things in the world. And thus the evil prevails and spreads, keeping what was stolen from people still away from those who originally owned it.

That's the whole reason I'm putting all this out into the public, to start unraveling what was done to humanity. So we as a whole can rise back to where we were supposed to be, and were, long ago.

Not sure about balance between the two. I'd say both methods work and are a bit different approaches to achieve the same thing. I'd say it's up to personal preference how active approach you want to take to things. Just remember that you need to be able to listen to your intuition while observing what's happening.

I haven't tried that with synchronizities but I don't see why it wouldn't work. I suggest you design and try some with that method. It's all up to your personal "agreement on the design" with The Universe. I think almost anything should work in theory. It's a different thing how practical some of the methods are.

I've used your "add some cue markers to make you pay attention" for more of a spell casting type of approach. But now that I think of it, that might also fall in the same technique category of "agreed on" synchronizity effects. But I was the active side on the effect, deciding when it happens. So a spell in a way I guess. I might write an essey about that stuff also. It might be very closely related to these synchronizity techniques, maybe just the different side of the same coin, or maybe even the same side... I'm not sure.

Irish_Bard wrote: Tue Sep 14, 2021 11:03 pm I'm also thinking that passive observance could help refine those marker keys further as certain elements gain promance and others become redundant - also new markers reveal themselves to be incorporated into new keys..?
That could happen, yes. At least I realized some of my own synchronizity messages/markers were too hard to understand in practise so they just went unused and faded away. Others also automatically stated gaining a bit more meaning to them, so the original design I'm using has a bit more depth and flexibility to it than originally intended.

Extra bit of info I've come to realize after posting my essey here:
It's starting to look like synchronizities are at the center of all things esoteric and magickal. They seem to be creating magickal effects. They touch spirits and spirit world in a concrete way. They affect your personal reality. It looks like tiny modifications to the approach might be able to affect others reality also, etc...

This in turn feels like one more evidence that my view on what magick at its very core is was right:

Hmm, the forum doesn't let me edit a bit older post, so I'll post the update here. The fifth post contains the following text:

I'd change it to this:
You can get even more out of synchronizities by combining different methods. The best way to combine numbers with other methods (that I can think of or have ran into) is to assign very specific meanings to every color, number or geometrical shape. It seems the amount of numbers you assign to your synchronizities doesn't matter.
