The right to life

Post by inMalkuth »

We say that we believe in dignity of each individual, and that we all deserve the same basic human rights. The right to food, medicine, shelter... these things take precedence in our society right now. The fact is that most of us do not really care about other peoples human rights. Human rights will vary depending on the society that they belong to. From a governing standpoint "human rights" have nothing to do with dignity. It is about encouraging our citizens to contribute and invent in hopes of making a better nation. We never know from where the next thing will come, and so we should take care of all of our people. In a world view, this would apply to all of us in every nation. This is what I hope to be the cause of America and the United Nations. The next time you fight for "human rights" ask yourself what you have done with them.

Our rights include the right to not do anything with them.
There's no implicit guilt to be had.
