Note that according to the older texts it isn't a female it just takes female form for all of you using the terms, she her etc, but of course one may say that many astral beings don't have a true sex. I personally think that if the being isn't amorphous and it takes a feminine and/or masculine tone, form, etc then it can qualify as being called one or the other but I don't have enough experience with Gremory to know whether she/he qualifies as one who can be labeled.
Yeah but consider the source of the older ones. The grimoires from the middle ages are notorious for making female demons male. Also any pagan entity would be called a demon by the church. There's a chapter in, pacts with teh devil I hink, where the guy evokes Asteroth and find it's a pagan goddess with a wonderfully sweet breath and the ring was needed as a focusing device so that the mage wouldn't wander into the circle in an attempt to make love to the entity.
Gremory gave me a feeling of a physically strong, regal woman, one who very much loves life. That might be part of teh mystery...one must LOVE LIFE.

Just want to qualify the statement. the god of the church is a solar god following a solar calendr and is relatively chaste. Whereas many Pagan entities were female, followed a lunar calendar and were highly sexual. To this day the middle east still follows a lunar calendar.
Members of teh church were cautioned about sex and female entities were turned to male demons so as to lessen the chance that any "good xian" who would summon an entity like Gremory would not be "seduced" away from the church.
Who would you prefer. A vengeful sungod who demands denial of the body or a demoness who only wants to screw yer brains out. I know what most sexually mature guys would choose, and of course the church wouldn't want that.

What area do you live in? i'm thinking of going south for grad school if I get accepted into one of them. UCSB has a good program.

Nice irony, my friend.
Now, is it really only TWO people on this forum that has played with Gremory? That just can't be, with all the Goetia obsessed people here.
