Dreams And Their Interpretations
Original post: Mmothra
Sud Ram, a question (or two) for you.
Do you feel that lucid dreams can or should be interpreted? Especially dreams that have strong OBE aspects?
Also, I have severe sleep apnea and recently began using a CPAP (continuous pressure air passage) at night. I wear a sort of mask over my nose while sleeping and it has completely eliminated any solace or sanctuary sleep used to provide...but since I am able to breathe and am spending more time in REM, I am dreaming more...although I am somewhat unsure about the relative quality of my dreams these days. Any thoughts on this?
Thank you!
Markus

I know this was addressed to Sud Ram but heres my 2 cents. I had never even thought of interpreting lucid dreams but i think its an awesome idea. An OBE is something that holds all sorts of treasures for us to dig up and I think that a lucid dream is totally worth interpreting. The things we allow ourselves to do while in a known state of dreaming would definately reveal things about our inner s(elves) For instance, one of my first lucid dreams i rememeber consciously deciding to have sex with whoever i wanted. that seriously reveals so much about me and my life situation at the time. maybe that was too much information.
ANYWAYS,
if you are doubting the quality of dreams its probably just because your dealing with the discomfort and maybe pyschological irritation about your sleep situation. Personally, I think your dreams would be of a better quality simply because your sleep is more regular.

well i hope any of you can know what this means so here it is: i dreamt of me killing people i happen to have used magic to do so. and it has been in many of my dreams especially when i was younger. with my dreams as a child i dreamed of leading an army against another that i died in or was in an army. in that dream i was in a cavalry unit and stuff. could this mean this was my past life? i dont know i dont have that dream anymore.

I'll answer Mmothra's question and get back to the dreams later when I have a little more time. I'm sure other people can also give out their ideas, it would be nice to have more that just my "narrow-minded rear end" interpretations about dreams in here.
I believe any lucid dream, OBE experience, astral journey, vision, entheogenic trip etc... can and should be interpreted. They all are manifestations of your ongoing process of evolution and work with similar multidimensional dynamics.
Regarding your apnea, it looks serious if you feel you have to sleep with a mask. I wouldn't worry about the "quality" of your dreams, they are just what they are. When you're awake you are also dreaming and working on other dimensions but you are just not aware of it. So there is no actual reality to "quality" in these dynamics.
I would look into natural ways of dealing with this issue though, sleeping with a mask all your life doesn't really create a reality tuned with Nature - from my persepctive at least. Taking up Yoga or Tai Chi with a proper teacher can greatly help you overcome this plus you would of course require consultations from a naturopath or homeopath or maybe even an osteopath. From the very little that I know about this, apnea problems are very much posture related.
Peace

Jendayi:
I don't think the dream has to do with actual pregnancy or becoming a mother. I believe it is working on a new masculine aspect that is coming out. However it is full of very intricate family issues and patterns that you are working on with relation to all the feminine elements manifested in your dream, sistr mother etc. tha probably shaped your "old" masculine by opposition.
The hospital is a place of treatment but still it is not balanced, you are in fear, you view the conventional birth as something that doesn't rally fit you, there is distrust regarding the doctor because somehow you connect all this to the death of the "baby".
You are then faced with another aspect, the woman in the machine room working out. something that you would like to be able to do in the dream so here it is your jealousy that comes up.
You finally go to the library/Cube where you are challenged with a trap. This is your mind trying to know more than it can and finally traps you into a difficult situation.
It is interesting to see how you are working through your feminine patterns to create a new masculine aspect. This is very balanced work and harmonization but it is still ongoing a process. You have yet to find a proper place to give birth again. The hospital was not the place you wanted. Maybe work on this with some visualisation and find out where you would imagine this baby coming into the world.
glyph:
it seems to me that you are feeding and nurturing your search for art and occult. There is however some expansion on the artistical/visual side of this. It is a bit short for develloping or speculating on more issues but it's a balancing dream where you share with your friend so you're opening to your various facets within.
beesting42:
What a great dream! The fish flying in the air are a very powerful symbol of hidden knowledge coming into manifestation beyond the physical possibilities. What I mean here is that the example of your obese friend being limited by his weight is overcome by you symbolically and you are led to a very important discovery. I would expect some kind of revelatory experience in life in the near future or a very deep undertsanding of something you have been looking for.
Wiseone: there's not much to work with here, I can only see that you were in a strong internal conflict and that you ended up suffering dire consequences from it. I wouldn't see why it is a past life experience maybe someone has a better view on this?
Peace
The thread of dreams. Tell us all about them and thay'll be dissecated into something you can understand.
Have no fear, a dream is an aspect of yourself with multidimensional repercussions. Bad things that happen are always a good sign so tell us even your worst nightmares.
Dream work is sacred and can open doors for deep healing, dive into this experience.

I dont think that there is any sense in this dream . But for some odd reason it was all too vivid .
I'm out in my moms back yard and theres this huge flower unlike I've ever seen . I grab onto it and start flying but unlike my normal dreams , I have no control of where I going ( and I've flown in almost every dream I can remember ) But finaly I reach the clouds and theres a city . Now I'm a pagan and I dont realy think of heaven . But this place had more of a private not very public feel to it . And I noticed there were servents running around . Then I heard my moms voice calling me to get the cat get the cat and my dream shiffted to the night I witnessed my cat almost get hit my a druken driver . I'm I crazy or was there meaning behind the crazy ?

Hiya,
Since going more into the occult with the practice of it...my dreams are becoming more occult...like drawing talismans in my dreams...plus other stuff...
Has this happened to any of you guys and why is it so...is it because the conscious subconscious are being awakened...?
I keep meaning to write my dreams down but end up with masses of pages...any tips on best to do this?

Sadb:
I believe your dream makes a lot of sense
You go into your mother backyard which is symbolic of the main represenatation of the feminine pattern you have, but you go deeper into it.
The flower is the blossoming of a new vision regarding this and it takes you high up to a new level of consciousness (you fly) but you are not completely clear of what is going on. I believe the beings you see are helpers rather than servants.
You are called by your mother to understand this is a symbolic way, you have to get the cat. The cat is a very strong archetype of the feminine and the unexpected. You dive into the night (even deeper unconscious consciousness, does this make sense?) to save it from being hit by a drunken driver.
What comes to me here is that you are to discover something beyond your expectations. This discovery will require you to keep you intuiton very open and your ideas also open but for questioning. It seems that you consider somewhat your broader awareness as something you can use as a way of being "patronising" towards other people.
The drunken driver represents your wrecklessness and your tendency to not care about the consequences. This is directly connected to the previous emotion/thought. It appears that you sometimes don't care at all about others and may have some tendency to think that your choices are owed their total freedom regardless of the rest.
The lesson the dream is offering is that you may have to overcome this by going deeper into the unexpected feminine and this is with the help of your mother. Somehow there is a connection that has not been polished. Maybe it is time to learn again from her.
spiritoflove:
Don't stop writing your dreams, it's perfectly normal that they accompany your learning process. Enjoy it!

Dream: I am Hunting 2 bears, in a vista kind of like an idealized rocky mountain nature park. One is shot and killed, the other chases me, and spits at me in disgust and anger for what I've done.
What's with all the animals in my dreams?

Anathema:
In your dream your are hunting which in a way represents your search for something. It is somehow imbalanced because you do it with the intent of personal gain/ego/trophy.
The Bear is a powerful symbol of leadership but also a strong and important reminder of playfullness. In your case I would say it's a symbiosis of both in the way that you kill the playfulness that allows you to be strong and lead an exemplary life. Luckily you have an extra aspect that wacks you and gives you a wake up call.
This would be telling you to go after what you are looking for with a playfull attitude and not one of greed. This will allow you to become the strong and balanced leader that is within.

Thanks for the interpretation Sud Ram. I did have a dream a few months after this one with a baby. I gave birth in a world of white light. It was so peaceful and awe inspiring. My baby was so beautiful and I was more natural there. I was breastfeeding the baby.

I have these two re-occuring dreams..
In the first one, which is more common than the other, I'm a member of some sort of para-military swat team, and we're sent in to investigate a building, it seems like its some sort of research facility or office building, and we're going through it, trying to find some people. We always end up getting half the hostages out of it, but continuing to the basement. The team is of 7 or 8 people and we're traveling through a complex set of tunnels with lots of pipes, obviously part of the heating and cooling maintainence section of the building. Every now and then we get attacked by people...it always starts off with them being simple masked hostage takers or terrorists, but we continue deeper, every now and then a team mate gets picked off...eventually the maintainence tunnel turns into a sewer system, and the enemies become less human...then to a cavern system, and the enemies become mutants, then finally, everyone in the team but me is dead, and I come out into a catheral, and suddenly I'm surrounded by zombies...not only this, but my gun runs out of ammo...usually thats about where the dream ends...sometimes I whip out a katana and make a run for, and through, a stained glass window, which happens to lead to a high cliffside next to the ocean...
The other one seems very apocalyptic...its night time, but the sky is red because a city is burning....again, obviously I'm a member of some governmental organization, sneaking through the rubble, just trying to stay alive in what so obvsiously is a warzone of some sort. With me there is a small child. Eventually we get to a lake, there are some empty canoes in it, we go into the water and try to hide under a canoe....eventually we make it to the other side, we're trying to get as far away from the city as possible...but I know something is coming...so I flip the canoe over and just hide the child....there is something special about the child, but I don't know what....the child is hiding under the rowboat on the shoreline, and out of nowhere comes a weird looking power-armor/cyborg thing....red eyes, lots of guns...but it just kind of sits there and stares at me..and I glare at it, ready to die....it cocks its head sideways and then walkes away....
Tons of other weird dreams that often link together....I'm always working for some government agency and there is always some sort of alien biology/technology/weird genetic hybrid freaks or zombies involved...and its always obviously me in the dream...but an older version...like...at the max, 10 years from now...me in my late 20s, early 30s...which really isn't that far off right now....maybe I just have an overactive imagination and watch too much sci-fi and horror...but its weird to have the same dreams over and over again, and each time it yields a little more detail....

Hi Sud Ram,
While I am digesting the last information that you gave me, here is another dream that I had a little while ago. It is so odd and has really stuck with me.
I was going by myself to attend mass at St. ****** of ******* and either had walked up or parked a ways away. Then I was driving up a narrow one-way drive. There were lots of other cars as this was the parking lot. A car was trying to enter my drive from the wrong direction. It was Teddy ****** (This is a lover of mine from a LONG time ago, he was not someone that I was ever in love with). He was in a shiny yellow old VW bug. We pulled over & talked. We were going to hang out, but I went to mass first while he waited.
When I got back this thin girl with wavy light-brown/dark-blond hair was with him. Teddy did not want to drink as he said it brought him down from some sort of mind experiment related to pot smoking that he and the girl were involved in. So this girl goes into my mother's house with me to eat. My mom had bought beer for us & I went in the fridge to get it all out., but she had bought all Budweiser cans & said she was sorry, but I'd have to drink a bud. I said that no I wouldn't because I'd spotted 3 Miller Lights in the back & began pulling them out & asking the girl what she wanted.
I think that this is when the dream changed.
My mother & I were standing by the lake of my grandparents' old shore house on ********** Drive. I saw a little head of a tiny "Loch Ness Monster" & pointed it out to my mother. She said "Oh yeah, you spotted your own Loch Ness Monster" or something like that. Somehow it came up to the shore & we liked it a lot, but I warned my mother when she bent over & out her face next to it that it would bite her face.
Then we figured out a way to talk to it. Talking to it was very strenuous on the lungs. It became sad & told us that it lived in the lake with others like it near a small red metal structure. I thought that the lake hadn't seemed large enough for all of that. It was sad because it felt it was out too late & couldn't get back. (this is based on a location in waking reality. THe lake is actually not as big as in my dream.)
(The dream may get out of dreaming sequence here. I may have dreamed about all of the animals in the water at this point.)
Then all of the creature's family came up onto the shore. It was very much like a royal procession. Other people were suddenly around. A man (who appeared as a cartoon character Charly Brown?) fell in love with one of the females & got married to her.
***Note from today, not originally recorded - the back yard is the side that the lake (and street) was on, another body of water was in the front yard****
Then from the backyard a woman/cartoon character (very much like Peppermint Patti) started yelling at the man who got married "Don't you remember that you married me?! Don't you remember that you married the baby sitter?! You promised that you'd always take care of me and be there for me!". Then she must have died/committed suicide, because others had made her grave on the side of the house nearest the bathroom. I understood that she was me as I left 3-5 footprints deliberately in the fresh soil of her/my grave. At the right-hand foot of the grave was a flat stone marker that said "Lisa".
(I think that this next part is the part that I may have dreamt about just before the little "monster's" family came out of the water. I am actually almost sure of it.)
I was by the lake & ready to jump in to swim when all of these animals ran by me. I looked & there were all sort of sea creatures now in the lake. I jumped in & saw all sorts of fish, dolphins, seals, etc. I worried about sharks with all of the seals & fish there to eat, then realised sharks don't live in lakes. Then I realised that neither do all of these creatures, so I was a bit concerned anyway.
All of the creatures were in the water, which was very deep & fairly clear. The water was packed with these cratures & I was in it with them. They were exuberant & excited and all swimming counter-clockwise. I swam over to the pier and moved to the side to let a man swim by in the other direction (even people were in the water, it was absolutely packed). It was beautiful & the sun was out & shining on the water.
(This may be when the "monster's" family came out of the water.)
Next, it was night & I was on a dark-wooden enclosed porch that was on the lake. I wanted to get back in the water & experience what I had before with all of the creatures, but I was worried that I had waited too long. I could not see any creatures and noticed that it was dark. I felt sort of afraid to get in the water because of the darkness & because the waves were huge. But the water was beautiful as moonlight outlines the edges of each wave & all of the water shone in this light. I called to my little "Loch Ness Monster" friend in his own language, but he did not appear. The water with the moonlight & the big waves was frightening & intimidating yet enticing & I thought about what a good, strong swimmer I was. I thought that maybe I'd get in anyway. I wanted to feel like I had before. I decided to let this huge wave crash over me to see how strong the pull was. I was fairly frightened but excited as I stood holding on to a wooden post at the edge of the deck/porch with the large wave cresting over me. It froze there & I looked at it & saw how the moonlight reflected on the edge & thought how beautiful it was.
Next I was in the garge during the day with another woman close to my age. It may have been ****** ****** or my cousin *****, or neither of them. I had a stencil & found some spray paint. I then looked for the stencil I liked best and sprayed the pattern on the wall. The other woman & I were going to paint these all over the place.
A female cop showed up & asked what we were doing. I told her that I had every right to be there as the property belonged to my grandparents & my family. She was very mean & said something like I had everything given to me & it didn't matter if I ruined it because I'd be given more. My mother showed up with another woman who may have been my Aunt ******* or Aunt *******. I told my mother what the cop had said. We were all angry at the cop. My mother asked her what her number (meaning her police badge number) was & she told us "5". We thought that this was odd, but she said that she'd been a cop here for a long time.
Up the road a bit a reporter was there on t.v. reporting on the "police activity" that I was involved with. Some of my family & I walked up there. Someone who was my aunt in my dream, who was very big & fat (Aunt ****) told the reporter off. As the reporter was leaving my "aunt" told us that she didn't care if she went to jail as she'd have a safe place to stay where they'd feed her a couple of good meals a day. I said yes, & that probably none of the other prisoners would mess with her because she was so big.
Then I woke up.
I do not attend mass, but I sure seem to dream about it a lot. As I child I attended mass every day, went to CCD (Catholic Sunday School) and went to mass every hold day of obligation and every Friday during Lent. My grandparents have both passed and I rarely see the Aunt who told off the cop.
As always Sud Ram, thank you for your help. I appreciate it very much and wish that I could return your kindness.
Hi Sud Ram,
While I am digesting the last information that you gave me, here is another dream that I had a little while ago.

Dreams And Their Interpretations
Enjoy it!
All of what you mentioned are things and ways that I wish I could behave but under certain circumstances cant . But my dreams usaully do have me knowing something when nobody else does . But one thing you said didn't fit was that my mother is not the most feminine person she has 11 tatoos and could knock out any man that got in her way
Thanks for your imput !

Sadb, what I meant about your mother is not that you should learn femininity from her, but rather that as a feminine aspect of yourself, she has something to teach you regarding the issue in the dream. I'm quite sure that if you look a bit deeper you'll understand.
I'm a bit behind on the dreams but I need to be more clear in my mind to go and read them so forgive me all of you who are waiting. Also I would like to ask other people to come and help! It's always good to have different perspectives on dreams that can help whoever is working with them.
Peace

For the two shorter dreams:
spiritoflove:
The unicorn appearing in the field is a blessing. A sign of a new passage, of turning your dreams into reality, from one world to another through freedom and joy.
Wiseone: A strong dream about your masculine insecurity. I won't say more about it because you are still deep in this process and you should discover the aspects of it by yourself. The key here is trust.

thanks sud ram ive been recording the dreams i have and tried to interpret them as best as i can as there are not many that i know who know on how to do this. so i was left to do these things myself and ive done a pretty good ob i guess.
though there is one dream that has continued to puzzle me and well im in a maze looking for the exit and it takes me a long time before i find a very small door with the word IDEOLOGY on the to where the exit sign should be. the latter has really made me puzzled as i cant figure it out at all.

Certainly please do not feel rushed or even feel the need to interpret on my account. I do not feel, however, that I have sufficient insight into dreams to assist others. You seem to have quite a gift for it. Perhaps later after I sort things out for myself, as I am in a period of change right now, I will be able to be of more help to others.
I am still thinking a lot about the last dream with which you helped me, and this thinking has been along the lines of how my incredibly strong background of Roman Catholicsm influences my experiences, expectations, and philosophy currently. Perhaps it has become a foundation from which I operate and is still so strong that it shapes how I invest in and interact with new pratices and experiences, to an extent that I was not consciously aware of. I am still thinking on it though, but do you feel that this is along the lines of what you were suggesting? Even in that dream about the lake and the shore house I began by going to Mass.

2 Recurring dreams, my baby sister has had since childhood.
#1- She is in a room, sometimes one she knows, other times not. The furniture is floating up high, and then it comes crashing down around her. She says she's had this time ever since she was very small.
#2- She is running away from someone/thing, running down a dark hallway, at the end is my Grampas bedroom door ( his bedroom was at the end of the hall at our grandparents), and she is trying to reach my Grampa so he can save her. But no one answers the door.
I think I might have a bit of it figured out, but may I get your opinion Sud Ram when you have time?
