i say first that i dont scry much. i consider it a very interesting field and something that can provide much insight...but considering what i seem to get from it, it hasnt been for me. i own a black "celtic" scrying mirror i bought from a new age shop a couple years ago that is about a 12in square with an "embroidered" design around it and a smaller circle in the middle.
my first time scrying, i saw what appeared to be people staring and screaming at me in desperation, which then focused in on a lady caressing an infant in her arms, which seemed to be dead. i could literally feel this womans pain. i started crying along with her uncontrollably. this surprised me - why would i be literally feeling sorrow from a vision in a mirror? especially one where i had no personal connection with? she seemed to be calling out for help and i felt it was pointed at me, although she wasnt looking or pointing anywhere in particular. then the woman materialized into the face of some sort of "demon"(only description i can say. it wasnt anything specific)...something i had never seen before. it laughed at me and i felt an immense fear. it then disappeared and went back to the woman, who had her hand extended out towards me, almost as if on the surface of the mirror like i was looking into glass. i was in a trance at this point and unconciously started lifting my hand toward to mirror, compelled to connect with her. before it got there, however, i snapped out of it and decided i needed to stop.
that was the one and only time i have seen anything significant. since then, all i see for extended periods of time is rows and rows and rows of people that i feel are suffering or in pain of some sort and sometimes there is a quick flash of someone laughing at me. no matter what mood or condition i scry in, i always see this...to the point where it has become completely mundane. i also havent had the same emotional or entrancing response as i did when i first used it, but it is still an extremely unpleasant thing to see, and i walk away feeling very drained. i have been in a calm/content mood and in right mind every time i have begun it, by the way...
i like sharing my experience, but maybe if anyone has any insight into an interpretation, that would be nice. why am i seeing the same thing over and over after such a profound experience? its very interesting nontheless, i suppose...

Ahhh... sounds like something's decided to interfere with your viewings... sounds like an unimaginative beastie, whatever it is... As to literally feeling sorrow from a viewing, that often happens, because you are forming an empathic link to the very thing you scry.

You can always try to cease and bless yourself, your working space and whatever you are using to scry and see if that will clear away interference.

In addition to Venefica's suggestion, you might want to try to go to your scrying with a particular question in mind, ask or demand to know what this is all about. I suggest the LBRP before you begin or the Middle Pillar, because both will put you in a position of authority so that anything that tries to trick you will not be allowed to do it. Demand no tricks and no lies, you want the truth. If you continue to get this message of people suffering, then command to know what the meaning is of it. If it is nothing more than interference, then banish it somehow. Either command with your voice or do the LBRP with the intention to banish the interference.

As suggested, it also wouldn't hurt to cleanse yourself, the area and the scrying mirror before you try it again.

I do not agree, sometimes images will just come to you even if you do not try to see something specific, images that can be very useful. And besides in the beginning getting anything is the goal, and one can try to be more specific later.Plain and simple, the results of your operation are random images. OK...I see what you mean Venefica....I was thinking more along the lines that some people see the random images and assume they are supposed to mean something directly related to them....at that moment...which they could or could not. Some people get frightened by what they see.
If you begin scrying with an open, "let me see something", then seeing random images is good and is a sign of a small success in your scrying practice...as you said. People just need to realize it is just that, and not necessarily anything related to themselves.

after throwing this event into the back of my mind for a while, i am actually fairly certain i have found out exactly what this vision meant. well, ive recently found out a lot of important yet confusing things about myself spritually, but not sure what i should do about it yet... X(
