My fav's are Sobek, first to emerge from the waters of chaos (something about picturing a hand fed crocodile with big gold dookie chains around its neck and rings on its claws is cool to me), and Thoth. I have channeled Thoth to help with fixing bad code problems and gotten really good results.

Most definitely Hru/Hor/Hr or however you want to spell it. Oh yeah if you are Greek it'd be Horus :>. Perhaps Hru Aha to be more specific...
The composite Stk (Set) and Hru (Horus) one... damn I can't remember the name! I did get to see the image in the museum over in Egypt which was pretty cool :>.
As an interesting side note, there is only one temple in Egypt that is still standing which has a depiction of Stk being given offerings and honored by Pharoah. There is an entire town sacred to Stk to make up for this though (and another entire town sacred to Hru).

I like me some Anpu. Ra is also cool.
And Ma'at has a special place in my heart. Get it? Heart?
All three are deities that my fiance honors. I have mostly Hindu deities on my altar (plus Athena). And one demon.

I've a somewhat ambiguous relationship to Egyptian gods...there isn't much I've read about Egyptian beliefs that resonates with me and it isn't really my preferred pantheon, but somehow I keep getting occasional nudges that suggest the actual deities DO exist as entities and sometimes like to tell me so.
I'm rather partial to Serket even though no one seems now to know what she was goddess OF exactly( other than possibly the Nile River---which I am obviously not, for all I have six planets in water signs:D)---perhaps because my moon sign is Scorpio and I've had scorpion spirit guides...or have I had those because She wants to talk to me? :eh: I need to get my act together and finish her statue, it's been nearly a year...
Of course I also like both Bast and Bes( the household-protecting-type gods *always* appeal to me, especially if they have a bit of a coarse and earthy side)...and I happen to have a deformed dwarf cat born in my home to remind me of them both.

IDK, never really been all to big into the egyptian guys... Personally, I'd go for Anubis. Why? Because gnolls are awesome! ...and if you understood that statement, then you too are an RPG nerd.
But yeah, I only really know egyptian deities from pop culture, and I realize that they are probably butchered horribly to make the movie sell better [Stargate, anyone?] so I will hold off judgement on this matter for now.
But I'm still biased toward the gno... Er... ANUBIS.

Mine is Het Hru (Hathor). Because I am an aspiring actress and a woman who loves comfort, luxuries and great entertainment and having a good time. Also, I am a tragic romantic. Also, I love buying and being surrounded by beautiful things.

I love Thoth because he has been known comes to the magician without evocation to teach magick . And because he is easily evoked . He has historically been a fave amongst magicians for these reasons .

Thoth, Ra, Isis, Bast are my favorites. I am especially connected to Ra, I enjoy his stories and symbology.

I have to throw my support behind Sekhmet as far as this particular field is concerned. She would be hurt if I didn't mention her. Then again she's pretty easy going.Well not really I guess that only applies to people she's close to.She's usually pretty amused by my sense of humor but I admit I've gone too far on occasion and made matters difficult for her.Met her through a friend and we've got along rather well ever since though at first she was kind of reluctant in part due to the nasty rumors surrounding me.
Concealed in darkness my secrets hide, chase my shadows and peer inside, a magic door for the bold, between lines lay the key of gold.

The god I am most familiar is Thoth and his connection to the Hermetic tradition of the Emerald Tablet, so yes he is my favorite, so far.
Looking through the wikipedia Egyptian pantheon, Hu , the god of the first word is interesting. Based on archeological human burial artifacts, some scientists believe that humans already had words that are abstract and conceptual , about 50,000 years ago. Shai, the deification of the concept of fate is fascinating. If anyone knows any sources to find more about these, I would really be interested

I would have to say Nuit and Isis.

gave you diamonds gave you emeralds weighed you down with precious stones, laid my finger on the trigger, took you down up off your throne, now i'm so alone, lay down slowly on the right side of my bed, whisper so softly oh so softly shots ring out inside my head, i took you in my arms the night was raining lead, kissed you gently oh so gently for the time we had was spent. Home is where, you find it, home is where, we hide it,

Nuit! Oh the humor (not because you like them, just the coincidence of it).srvdv93 wrote:I would have to say Nuit and Isis.

Re: Your Favorite Egyptian God/Goddess
Well, basically it's almost like an inside joke. A little while ago someone mentioned their favorite spirit was one I have a rather "strong" connection to, and now today you do the same thing with someone else I know, who they have a "strong" connection to Nuit (and they happen to be on this board). I just find that humorous is all.srvdv93 wrote:? okay you got me baffled...I'm slow on the ball tonight, 12 hour work day. Say what?
Re: Your Favorite Egyptian God/Goddess
Ahhh okay...gotcha, that's awesome hopefully I get to meet this individual then someday and discuss miss madame Nuit with her.
