Magick Ink

Post by Occult Forum Archive »

Basically, my personal recipe for some all purpose magick ink

I'm generally a Chaote, but I thought a straight recipe for this belonged in this forum. Mods, feel free to move it if you feel like.

Anyways, enjoy.

I take a page from my personal grimoire, construct a ritual sigil to invoke entity/s.

(Insert your favorite here. Personally I'm a fan of the Egregores of the DKMU)

After the ritual, I take the page and rip it into small pieces and I construct a paper box with a sigil for the element of fire. (transformation, purification, Yung Zalty) I put the ripped pieces into the box, and put that box into a metal bowl.

I thoroughly burn the paper using incense as fuel.

I use the handle of a dagger to grind the ash into a fine powder.

I pour salt into the mixture, equal to the mass of the ash powder.

I grind the salt in as fine as I can get it.

I smoke a bowl of cannabis and mix the ash into the powder.

That's it.

Use for... whatever.

It's some potent stuff.

Interesting. I haven't had too much luck making my own inks and have had to suffice with regular ol' Dragon's Blood or Bat's Blood ink.

It's thin, like watercolor.

However, if you make it with the ratio powder>water, then it comes out good and dark. Albeit with dried salt crystals in it too. Personally, I like the effect that the crystals give.

Interesting, although there's no need for the salt. Ink made without salt has a nice shine to it anyway. Try adding a gum (not chewing gum) to the ash and it'll hold better.

Good post though, I had never heard of someone using cannabis for ink :)

Well, I didn't originally even mean it to be ink.

Basically, the paper with the sigil was used to make an astral pendant.

There were two pieces of paper. One is stored with my other tools.

The other was used to draw negative energy from it.

It was burned, and I purified it with the salt.

It reminded me of the ink from my old calligraphy set, so I started using it as ink.

Love experimentation! My inks usually take about a month to set, but the color is better than the commercial stuff.

Thank you for reposting this! Here are some recipes for other magic inks:

Drawing Money Ink:
1 teaspoon gum arabic (aka acacia) powder
4 teaspoons loose black tea
1/2 cup boiling water

Boil about 2 cups of water. Once it is at a rolling boil, pour 1/2 a cup over the tea, in a glass bowl. Let the tea steep for 15 minutes. Press the loose tea leaves with a spoon or pestel, getting as much of the colour from the tea out of the leaves as possible. Stir the gum arabic powder into the mixture and let sit for 15 minutes. Stir again, and strain the mixture. Let cool and then bottle. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.

Dragon Blood's Ink
1 teaspoon powdered Dragon's Blood Resin
1 teaspoon powdered gum arabic (aka acacia)
15 teaspoons grain alcohol or vodka

Put the powdered Dragon's Blood in a glass bowl and add the alcohol, cover the bowl in cellophane or tin foil. Soak the resin until dissolves. At that point add the gun arabic. Strain through cheesecloth, and store in a dark bottle.

Bat's Blood Ink
2 parts powdered Dragon's Blood resin
1/2 part powdered myrrh resin
1/2 part powdered gum arabic
2 drops indigo colouring
2 drops cinnamon oil
12 parts grain alcohol or vodka

Put the Dragon's Blood and Myrrh into a glass bowl and cover with the alcohol. Cover with plastic wrap or tin foil and allow the resins to steep until completely dissolved. When that is done, add the powdered gum arabic, indigo colouring and cinnamon oil. All to steep for about 15 minutes, covered. Strain, then put into a dark bottle.
Do not what you desire -do what is necessary.
Take all you are given -give all of yourself.
"What I have - - - I hold!" When all else is lost, and not until then, prepare to die with dignity.
