Spae

Post by Rauðolfr »

Could someone explain to me what spae-craft entails? Am I right in thinking it's predominantly focussed on divination?

Right-ish. [thumbup]

It encompasses so much more than divination alone, but seership [second sight] is a part of the craft of Spae and thusly, divination skills play a part in it.

More later, sorry I 'm pushed for time atm,but if anyone else wants to chime in,meantime, please do...

I should point out I don't personally know anything about this, so I can't speak for the validity of this site. That said, it's something I came across about Spae-craft, etc.

Were you talking about the Select Smart test? If so, then,......I got Aegir.

And yes, I'm sure this shows some kind of enormous character flaw of mine. Not being Aegir, but....somehow needing to go and do the test to say what I got.

Yeah, I didn't see it, either. So I just put what he said into Google and there were a lot of different ones, but it seems like people tend to go for the Select Smart tests, so I figured it was probably that one.

And then I did a "What ideology do you have?" quiz and got Radical [yay]

I thought I'd get Anarchist, but Radical's good, too [happyface]

You Scored as Odin

You are Odin. You are the leader of the Norse Gods. You are the wisest and always fight evil. You sacrificed your eye for knowledge, as well as hanging for 9 days with a spear in your side. You are the God of Philosophy and Poetry. You will lead the Gods into Ragnorak (the end of the world)

I think this is the test I took. I remember the percentages. Just took the highest percent.

So... I'm Frigg and you're Odin eh? [rofl]

The concept on Spæ is almost exclusively used in the US. I haven't found that many elsewhere who choose to divide seiðr into categories.
From what I've read, it's the foreseeing part of seiðr, and often over-focused on the used of the seiðhjallr.
