What tarot spreads do you use
Just got a new tarot deck and I want to "break it in" with varying tarot spreads. Thought it would be fun/intriguing to see what other people use.

That spread was very insightful. It basically let me know to stop being lazy and if i'm more "devout" I will finally feel fulfilled.Occultess wrote:http://tarotreadingpsychic.com/tarot-sp ... rd-spread/
I use this one from time to time.

I can't remember the name but the few times I've used Tarot cards I used a spread from Kraig's Modern Magick.
"The path of the Sage is called
'The Path of Illumination'
he who gives himself to this path
is like a block of wood
that gives itself to the chisel-
cut by cut it is honed to perfection"
- DDJ, Verse 27

I use a host of different spreads depending on what feels right according to the purpose of the reading however recently, I've found myself heavily simplifying for some readings and doing a 3 card past present and future spread.

That one has always been one of my favorites for its simplicity and results.ElectroConvulsiveJeremy wrote:I use a host of different spreads depending on what feels right according to the purpose of the reading however recently, I've found myself heavily simplifying for some readings and doing a 3 card past present and future spread.

When I do a reading about an exam, a job or business project I use the Creative Process spread. It's a very simple but insightful spread, that lets you know how you feel about a project, what you imagine it to be, what you think about it and the actual work involved in completing the project.

I use the Celtic cross spread the most, though it all depends on the situation. I occasionally use a wheel of the year spread to lookout at the months ahead.

I use Ankh spread to find out what's the origin of troubles, Astrology Circle spread to gain the insight of the moment, Planning Game spread to know how to make things done, Cross spread when I want just a quick overview of the situation, Relationship spread for getting know how the relationship looks like and when someone asks me a question I cannot categorize I use the Celtic Cross spread.doodlingowl wrote:Just got a new tarot deck and I want to "break it in" with varying tarot spreads. Oh, I forgot to mention Decision spread, that one is good for choosing between two scenarios. I also use the Blind Spot spread as an introspection exercise but for private uses only.
Some of these spreads are described here:

I personally like the Rider - Waite Tarot very much, just feels good for me to have it in my hands, seems like the right chemistry.
The guide book with is was OK, but I personally mostly rely on my intuition reading the card, often also considering the motive as well as the position (is the sword pointing at some other card, does this figure look at me, such things).
My favourite spread beside the celtic cross or the past-present-future is the "V"- Spread. The name says everything I guess.
