Hello All
Hello All
Hi all,
I'm Valkrane, or just V.
I have been on several forums over the years and most have fizzled out. I am here to be social and maybe make a few friends online.
I have studied Theology since I was a teenager. I am very friendly and love to talk theology, philosophy and psychology. I love music, ALL music, especially metal. I also love art. I paint and draw. I also like to write.
I am excited to meet all of you. If you want to know anything else, just ask.
V.

Hello V., pleased to meet you.
Is it the general theology which attracts you or just the christian theology. I am confused because here (my home) people talking about theology mostly refer to the christian theology.

The symbol you have as an avatar is one I was considering getting tattooed on me last time I was in Norway. But I opted for a Vegvisir instead.

I know what you mean though. I don't know where you live but I live in the bible belt. Here if you try to have a conversation with most people about Theology, all they want to talk about is Christianity, and if you mention something other than that they get offended and/or pissed off.
Re: Hello All
I go through fazes of different things. I've been pretty into Demonology/Demonalatry for a long time though. I've also been really heavy into Gnosticism and Luciferianism in this past. I am also pretty well versed in Laveyan Satanism (something I find interesting but don't agree with so much, that's another thread altogether.)Frumens wrote:Hi Valkrane. Right now though, I am kind of obsessing over the Greek God Pan, Cernunos, and other Horned pre-Chirstian deities.

I'm not sure what I'll get next, inkwise but Vegvisir is one possibility along with some other bindrunes.
I like the old stuff when it comes to metal,Sabbath,Iron Maiden,AC/DC [Bon Scott] and Motorhead are just some of 'my' bands, lol. [eg]

hi!
I can't help it. I'm sitting here laughing and strolling down memory lane. Have fun with Pan, dude. I hope you let us know how the ride was when it's done.

What kind of Metal are you into?
Mainly progressive nowadays like Symphony X, Opeth, Ayreon, Between the Buried and Me etc.
For a long time I was into heavy, power and speed metal and it was logical evolution haha

If I'm asked to define characteristics of music I listen to then I could say what matters the most is wide variety of emotions encorporated in music with lyrics to stimulate logical brain. As you can see I can hardly define what metal I'm into but I tried my best and wrote some examples [grin]
Re: Hello All
I have a music halfsleeve I'm working on. My one arm is all music themed, my other arm is all spirituality themed. Right now I've put all ink on hold though, because I'm saving to go back to Norway and to Amsterdam next summer and all my extra cash is going toward that. I wish immigration wasn't so difficult, otherwise I would live over there.Nahemah wrote:[thumbup]The symbol you have as an avatar is one I was considering getting tattooed on me last time I was in Norway. The BEST CONCERT I've ever been to was Iron Maiden in 2008. Oh my Gods... Maiden is one of the most high energy bands I've ever seen live.
I've seen Sabbath live too, in 2004 I think. It was at Ozzfest. I'm not a huge AC/DC fan, but I do like the early Bon Scott stuff, (She's got the Jack, It's a long way to the top, etc)

Ah, do tell? If you are comfortable I would love to hear more about your experience with him. If not here then you can PM me.RoseRed wrote:hi!

I haven't done anything as far as trying to communicate with him. I've just been reading a lot about him lately. There is a beautiful forest/swamp area near where I live where I go sometimes to hike and take pictures. Not always, but sometimes when I go out there I leave an offering to him. It's usually something simple. Sometimes it's just the lighting of some incense. But still, I get the feeling he appreciates it. (Or it could just all be in my head, lol.)
Re: Hello All
I could write a novel here... I also love progressive music. My favorite band of all time, (as hard as it is to pick one) is Pink Floyd. I started listening to them when I was a teenager and couldn't get over them. I wish they weren't so before my time. I would have loved to see them live. But, we have youtube, and there are plenty of old concert videos on there.EternalReturn wrote:Valkrane wrote:Thanks for the welcome,EternalReturn wrote:A fellow metalhead, musician, and writer! For a long time I was into heavy, power and speed metal and it was logical evolution hahaonce I found Rainbow I was obsessed with Dio so I had started to explore rock genre and then I found about Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Van Der Graaf Generator, Pink Floyd and so on. My love for progressive music started to grow [grin]

I love Rush too. I know a lot of people don't because they can't stand Geddy's voice. But I love his voice. It's so unique. No one else sounds like him. 2112 actually got e thinking about life a little differently the first time I heard it and made me want to read Ayn Rand.
I love prog metal too, Opeth, Dream Theater, BTBAM, Agalloch, etc.
I LOVE folk metal. Korpiklaani, In Extremo, Elvenking, etc.
I'm also really into Black Metal, old Black Metal, the raw, gritty stuff. My favorite is Burzum. Bathory is a pretty close second. I've been to Helvete, I've been to one of the Churches that was famously torched in the early 90s in Norway. I've been to the building where Euronymous was killed (didn't go inside, it's a private apartment complex, but I stood outside.)
I worked at the Inferno festival in Norway is 2012. It was one of the most exciting experiences on my life. I've actually hung out and drank with some giants in the black metal world.
And, I like a lot of the extreme metal bands from Italy too. (Opera IX (who I'm listening to right now) Graveworm, etc. Italy has this amazing metal scene that doesn't get near enough recognition.
Wow, that went on long, sorry. lol.

Re: Hello All

I totaly forgot about folk, and black (exept for Ulver). I was madly in love with it. It's like fantasy storytelling with good measure of dark and light fantasy
