Goetia question
I know that the techniques in the lesser key of solomon work, but the demons are hostile and will possess you if you don't take every little precauation, after all you are summoning them in the names of their opposer.. I know some claim that summoning the demons without these threats and god names and instead using different precautions and magic circles to protect onself while still treating the demon with respect not commanding it, supposedly they are friendly.
So how do I summon a goetia demon and protect myself from harm, without using the techniques in the goetia? Does anyone have any experience with "satanically" summoning the goetia demons safely?

Re: Goetia question
Interesting question. I don't have the answer, only some thoughts: don't you think that if you can summon a demon and offer only respect, the demon will ask for some costly proof of this respect? After all, the purpose of Goetia is to get services from demons by forcing them instead of having to pay any cost or the need to worship them.

Re: Goetia question
Yes that's true, but I think that when you "satanically" summon these demons, they won't try to possess or harm you.I heard they make reasonable deals, like making a temple and worshipping them, and they don't try to trick you when you align yourself with Lucifer. I just need to know what magic circle and other precautions to use to protect myself while still remaining friendly in their eyes.

If you worship them friendly and faithfully, why do you need a circle?Owlglass42 wrote:I just need to know what magic circle and other precautions to use to protect myself while still remaining friendly in their eyes.

Because in a generell term a circle, salt or any other symbol or tool of protection is a set point for your focus and awareness. These things can alter your filter of what levels you are aware of, or so to say, the connections. I will try to put it into a picture:
Imagine yourself like the death star in star wars. The death star has shots through which smaller space ships can leave or enter. Those are also its weakpoints, because hostile space ships can enter as well. The closing of the shots is like the filter mentioned above. The symbols and tools serve as sort of command console to enter the command for filter change so that for example only friendly space ships can enter and they are closed for hostile ones.
The thing now is that with more experience and time you will also get a grip on how to put those filter changes, those closing of the shots, into action without or at least with lesser effort then always drawing a circle and all this stuff.
This model works for most of the stuff you will encounter as your "death star amor" is mostly enough to keep out stuff except it is opened for whatever reason. This "armor" (can be called, aura, bubble, ignorance, field, etc.) can be forged stronger over time as well. It is claimed that operations such as the IAO-formula have such an effect. But the death star armor is not inpenetrable [wink]
Keep in mind this is a very general model based on a more psychological approach to understand and handle magick. Others will tell you that this is bullshit and you strictly have to use this symbol for this and this salt for that. I will not negate that if this worked for them based on their own practical effort because it has the same value for them as this approach has for me and my system. Paint your own picture! [gz]

Re: Goetia question
I found a book that appeals to my questions very nicely. Can an experienced magician tell me if this is a reliable starting point for my system: http://azjeh666.angelfire.com/Goetia_Luciferian.pdf
The circle of protection/operation is on page 22.
I will also thoroughly read "magick in theory and practice" by crowley as it is a very reliable book on magick.

Sorry to pick a needle out of a haystack, but I was wondering if you could elaborate on ignorance in this context.Ramscha wrote: This model works for most of the stuff you will encounter as your "death star amor" is mostly enough to keep out stuff except it is opened for whatever reason. Re: Goetia question
Well, "Ignorance" in that model would mean complete closing of all the "death star shots" . You try to ignore every kind of connection and every space ship, both friendly and foe. As I said it is not inpenetrable, but it can work out pretty well.
