Six Ways

Post by WildWolf »

I've been looking at this book Six Ways by Aidan Wachter, for awhile. It has lots of good reviews on amazon, but anyone read this book and have some opinions? Likely going to get a copy after i finish my current book.

Just got my copy and started reading.

First few things i noticed: Its relatively short (120+ pgs), but is jam packed with info. Each chapter is short at about 2-5 pages, but is stuffed with as much useful knowledge as possible. Additionally, it is a book on sorcery that is animistic in flavor. Animism is usually hovering in the background with most magick books, but not thoroughly explained. He takes the time to outline this approach and talks about developing active relations with the spirit based ecosystem that we exist within....which he refers to as "the field" (totality of reality).

That's all for now. I'm about a quarter done. Will comment again later.

This is my final review of Six Ways by Aidan Wachter.

I’ve read quite a few books on magick and I don’t think i’ve read a text that was definitively better than Six Ways. Although the book is short (+100), there is not a single chapter of fluff in the entire work. The book is DENSE with Gnosis and Practical Sorcerous Tech. If your a beginner, it is an excellent place to start…..and if your Intermediate or Advance….this book will still have excellent info. The dude has done the work….over a process of many years….and it shines through in the book.

Six Ways is so dense with info…that it may be one of the few occult texts that I have to go back and read several times, because I couldn’t scrape it all up on the first go round.

The overall current of the book, is a mix off Chaos magick, Animism and Witchcraft (forest vibes). If any of those things appeal to you...I Highly Recommend this text. Note, this is not an endorsement of any off his sequel texts, as I have only read Six Ways. The suggested reading section is also excellent. He also has many podcast interviews in his site that I still have yet to spool through. Link below.
