Post by Tyho »

Hi,

So what's your religious/spirtual beliefs guys? Are you Pagans, Christians, Buddhists ect.

Are you Monotheists, Polytheists, Pantheists, Panentheists, Atheists or Deists?

Please, feel free to share your views, explain to us your belief systems and how you came to accept them in your lives.

I practice hermetic theurgy, imo the best description for the worldview attached to that school of development would be panentheistic monism.
"The path of the Sage is called
'The Path of Illumination'
he who gives himself to this path
is like a block of wood
that gives itself to the chisel-
cut by cut it is honed to perfection"

- DDJ, Verse 27

"It's still magic even if you know how it's done." - Terry Pratchett

I'm with Rin on the "panentheistic monism" thing. "There is no God but God, for all the Gods are real."

In particular, the old neoplatonic / hermetic theurgy cosmology allows for this very easily:

As for which collection of gods and traditional terminology I prefer, that would be the Teutonic or the Northern Tradition.

Agnostism.
There is no Lucifer to folow, no God to obey
There is no Hell for punishment, no Heaven for reward
There are no Demons to fear, no Angels to listen
There is you and your fate
Wake up Alice
You are in Truthland.

Im a Chaos Magician - my beliefs fluctuate and change, depending on the paradigm I'm using at the time. I believe that belief is a tool, and in believing in something we can use our beliefs to create measurable change in accordance with Will.

I relate most to Gnostic Christianity, as it is the closest to the worldview I've developed so far. I also love Taoism, as it's the closest philosophy to Gnosticism. The only disagreements I have with these philosophies are a total disbelief in the idea of reincarnation and a Hell outside the one we're already in; I also don't feel that there is any reason to attempt to achieve any nirvana or henosis, as true peace is impossible until I die and this world of death is finally defeated forever by Christ, and the three crooked crosses of God are unified into one eternal æon.

I used to be a theistic Satanist who merely prayed to Satan and never conducted rituals though I am now a Christian. It is my prayer to the Christian God everyday that He and Satan sort aside their differences and reconcile.
