I remember this site being much more active; what happened?
I used to come here years ago under a different guise and I remember it being an uber-busy site, with all the downsides and upsides of that. This was well after the social media empire but I wonder if Reddit has siphoned off people? If so, I don't see many of the better versed occultists there, just endless newbie questions. Where has everyone gone?
Re: I remember this site being much more active; what happened?
One of the staff members here did a history thread....apparently the forums had tons of ups and downs. Now, i guess its crawling back in terms of members.

Various esoteric groups have greatly contracted in the last couple of decades
Perhaps the end of the age of Pisces is relevant.
Also the minimum standard for incarnating humans seems to have been raised about 1995. Perhaps the new wave of humans approaches Reality from other directions

Re: I remember this site being much more active; what happened?
To be fair...i joined the site about 2 years ago and it was completely dead, with almost no posts. The amount of traffic it gets now is much improved and will likely continue to grow in the next year. Time will tell.
Re: I remember this site being much more active; what happened?
Yeah I recall stopping by here a few times in the past and seeing WildWolf, Amor, and Cerber but other than that it was pretty much dead; I'm sure the reasons for that are somewhat numerous and varied. There were other "dead" occult forums as well so it wasn't the only one. OccultCorpus was okay for a while until one of the owners became ill; StudioArcanis became less active.
I tried the general-purpose writing forums for a while which were quite busy but have other issues. Spent some time at the 600 Club and then SIN; the former went offline and the latter just keeps becoming more and more defunct.

Even if they don't, that's okay too. It's still a place to create, revise, and repost various compositions. Some things do get a little old, but still remain as somewhat an obsession. Every once-in-a-while somebody stops by. This reminds me of another piece, but I try and pace myself, knowing I'll likely be here for a while.

Maybe a lot of them smartened up and realized that ninety-nine percent of the occult is bullshit.

Re: I remember this site being much more active; what happened?
Most don't have the resolve to dig through a mountain of dirt to reach that 1%. Most don't have the actual need for it.
Wants can drive you only so far, before it all get dropped as yet another passing fad. Very few have the Need to go as far as necessary.
And most who start this path seeking wealth, glory, or to satisfy any other earthly desire - don't get very far, before they learn it's usually the other way around - it's a path which more likely to strip you bare of your "flesh", than to add more to it.
Re: I remember this site being much more active; what happened?
The statistic made me think of aliens and UFOs; it's the one percent that isn't bullshit that's paramount.

I thought the site was down and just had archived messages.

Hi Ziran,
My interests are broad but some of them include Theosophy, Anthroposophy, crystals and astral projection. Am also interested in tarot at the moment but probably won't get myself a set of cards any time soon. I'm from Australia. I used to be on this forum years ago under Aurum and Spinel, although I don't remember even half of what I was going on about. I read your introduction by the way. Nice to meet you!!

It's nice to meet you too. Welcome back. I'm slightly familiar with Theosophy but had never heard of Anthroposophy. The wikipedia entry on it was very intersesting.Aurum_ wrote: ↑Thu Nov 23, 2023 5:07 am Hi Ziran,

@Aurum
I remember you, that you are from "Australia" and you used to have some sort of 'seascape' or similar as your avatar. It might've been this forum, but I think it was one of the others - maybe Studio Arcanis.

Hey, this is my first post on this forum. I apologize for not lurking longer, as is usually the custom as I understand with these sorts of websites. I was just curious, as I am interested in Western Occultism, and would like to lean. The problem I've had, is that I'm unsure of who is reliable and teaches good knowledge and who is preaching utter bullshit. Reading this thread has given me some hope, as a lesser known site maybe most people left here actually know a thing or two. That's my hope anyways. I've tried following some links to beginner resources, but many of the links posted here are dead.
Would anyone mind pointing me in the right direction? Thanks.

Strategic Sorcery by Jason Miller is a good beginners course in occult studies.Newbie__ wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 9:23 am Hey, this is my first post on this forum. HGA work is considered an important part of some western studies. I made a previous thread on the topic and linked many sources.

First and foremost, welcome aboard, second of all, unfortunately most of the links there are dead due to the fact that they're quie old and some people did not want to pay for them any longer or they moved to different addresses.
If you want to learn more on Western Occultism, I recommend this archive to you:
:http://www.esotericarchives.com/ - It is very detailed and you will like it first step.
The people who preach utter bullshit when it comes to Western occultism and esotericism are the Joy of Satan ministries and also Truth4Satan ministries as well. Do not trust them as their stuff is filled up with conspiracy theories related to aliens and a lot of racism.
Have a nice day and again, welcome abroad in the occult journey!

I had completely forgotten about that Avatar picture until you mentioned it. I had it I think on another forum. I haven’t heard of Studio Arcanis before. It does surprise me there aren’t many forums like this anymore. Nice to meet you.
Re: I remember this site being much more active; what happened?
I've noticed traffic on the site has jacked up quite a bit in the last few months.
