I'm sure you could get jobs...babysitting, paper rounds and other demeaning jobs- sure it's not much money, but it is better than nothing at all. I don't have a job at the moment, so I'm living off the money I was owed from when I lived with my relatives. There basically is no work round here within a decent travel range.

Those were two examples that were right in front of me when I saw your post and "magickally" I was inspired to go with the moment. I know the usage of the word "wish" is more out of habit but as Magickians we should be breaking habits and try to think more "magickally". And I disagree with you on the other sentiments. Semantics has everything to do with Magick getting you money and sex and power and rock stardom. It starts with that statement of intent. "Wishing" doesn't get you there, unless you're evoking leprechauns.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me in my early dabblings with simple spell-casting. I would cast a spell to get laid with a half-decent looking girl (even back then I was realistic) because I was a sad no-hoper who didn't stand a chance through mundane means. The spell would work, and I would be blown away by the results. The only trouble was, the experience would last for around one evening or day, because I was too socially retarded to know what I was doing. She would lose interest and I would be a sad no-hoper again.
Which is why I think that change on a personal or 'inner' level is definitely more important if you want those kind of results. I say personal as opposed to "higher" or "spiritual", as those terms can be so pompous they get on my nerves when people go on about them.
The same goes for money as it does for sex/lust. In the above example, I lacked the confidence and social graces needed to get laid. Like a masochist I let my self-loathing get in the way of me enjoying a love life. Many people don't seem to know how to handle money. If someone enchanted for thousands of pounds (or any other preferred currency), they would blow it. When I was a student, I watched as so many students got their loan cheques, thought "OMG I'm rich!", and then blew the whole lot down the pub. They simply did not have a clue on a personal level about how to handle money. So they lost it. Thankfully, I knew how to handle money better than women and came out of Uni without an incredible debt from overdrafts and more money than my friends. And I was not a miser either.

That's kind of what I was doing - most of my spells during that period were concerned with getting laid. I hadn't mastered the "lust of result" thing, so they only worked once in a while. And if I were to cast a spell to attract girls every day or something, it would be on my mind constantly, which I think would weaken the effect.
So I've taken to working on myself - modifying my personality, sometimes creating new ones, that sort of thing. Although I do still take to the odd enchantment now and again.

well what i mean by life not being so good it can have it's up and downs and sometimes one outweighs the other sometimes and for these recent times it seems to be so. ive always have been a person who thought of the negatives so i hope to not have offended.
well i do enjoy this life i live but im very limited to what i would wish to do like going to the beach to see its majestic beauty or to a forest with its feeling of peace. the reason is of course im young and that my parents dont want me going much anywhere but once im out of school ill be able to do these things. around here in anaheim there is not much beauty and it is pretty boring. so i would say life right now is boring and nothing now but that is how i think of it and i dont act upon what i think. this is how i am and i hope it makes sense!
with total freedom with having the friends thing i dont really think that it sucks that sometimes it can be unpredictable but overall is a very good experience to have friends and to hang out with them. though ive been a loner for most of my youth and it couldd be why you think having freedom of anything sucks i guess. well with freedom overall i do like the idea of it but nowadays some of that freedom is not as i would think it should be. like with the constitiution of the u.s. says freedom of and from religion but the religious people around here keep trying to convert me to a christian and im frankly getting tired of it. its because of this endless trying to convert me thing that makes me a little bitter towards freedom. as freedom is not always free.

Wiseone, I didn't say you have to be with friends to be happy. Whatever makes you happy, makes you happy. Simple as that. I'm a loner too, but I also have some great friends. Some days I socialize, some days I chill alone. I was mainly referring to the fact that you replied "that sucks" when I wrote about some people I know that are overwhelmingly rich. Never mind!
By the way, life doesn't really suck if you don't let it, but your parents sure seem to suck. You've got my sympathies there!
Now, can we return to the serious magick discussion about getting laid like a rock-star and landing a million bux?

Are all occultists millionaires with the sexlife of a rockstar?

Just a though: has it occur to anyone that maybe some artists out there who are making millions are magicians? I personally have been told that J.K.Rowling used magick to sell her book. Not sure if this is true or not, but my point is, just because people are doing jobs that are not related to the occult doesn't mean they are not magicians.

I'm sure some people use magick to get ahead with their jobs- yet even if they are not magicians, they often get carried away with their money, and it comes back and smacks them in the face.
