Shawn was fairly public person, with many footprints all over the web, but the trail of him got cold few years back.
Considering he was a gentleman of a very respectful age, he might have left us already and be drinking cappuccinos with the ancients someplace nice.

I vaguely remember him stating his age in one of his posts. I'm guessing he'd be somewhere around early seventies if he was still around.
