Show me what you consider to be the most powerful occult symbol EVER...

and then say a little bit about why you think that might be so.

Here's mine:



MONEY

it determines WHERE you live, HOW you live in what WAY you live.

it can be the deciding factor between whether or not you go to Paris on a private jet at the spur of the moment

As It Can Determine...

when you get out of bed in the morning to go to work, what they make you wear, what they make you say, etc.

And that there are things you wouldn't be doing, as there are things you WOULD be doing- if you had just a little more of IT


this is why I say it's the most powerful symbol.

but I would love to hear what others say about what they think of their own.

alot of discussion on taxes being poor placing labels like price tags on things in alot of recent topics i started up. didnt meen to push your buttons.

i have a peace of jade year of the rat myself more symbolic is my guess as rating people out are shunned in every home. i dont believe in placing labels or price tags on things. it is true knowledge can be worth its weight in gold so i suppose my written knowedge is far more valuable then money as you say. because i choose who sees it who can have it and if i place a price tag on it.

The most powerful occult symbol for me, is me. I am the center of my world, chances to me will affect all other things in my world. To my magick, I myself is the most powerful symbol

The symbol I most often use however is a symbol I first found in an RPG game, Mage the Ascension. There it is known as the Prime symbol and stands for magick itself, for Quintessence. I later found that it is used in Alchemy, and have about the same meaning there, and somone told me something similar is used in some African religions though I am not sure of the meaning of the symbol there. I have had a silver pendant of the symbol made and I almost always wear it. I also use it allot in my magick practice. Is it the world's most powerful symbol. I doubt it, after all that is individual, but it is my personal favorite occult symbol.

That would depend on witch nation you are in. I would say that for an American in USA the dollar sign is more powerful than the Euro sign.

It is the nature of occult symbols to trigger that which is occult. And that which is occult has no universal definition: it is defined by an individual's own experiences (or lack there of) of that which is occult or not occult.

Seeing as you are on a computer, coming to forums like this on your own free will, I assume (I hate assumptions) that you've probably been participating in a modernized and civilized society for most (if not all) of your life. To me, it would seem a little disfunctional for someone with such a background to deny the power of these symbols to trigger feelings, memories, etc. within anyone who shares such a background.

Edit: Anyone else startled by the similarities between these two money symbols? Both possessing two lines and letters used (or could be used) to make an "s" sound..

I think he means that the Euro is worth more then the american dollar.

I think its a poor sort of symptom of occultism that people tend towards Eastern sort-of anti-materialism (although its in Gnosticism and other systems too). Perhaps it comes from seeing the material as 'gross' as opposed to the 'subtle' energy... Y'know, Kether is in Malkuth & Malkuth in Kether... Power is power, whether symbolic or not, and all of that can be manipulated in accordance with one's Will.

i suppose thats a microsoft symbol who knows. then again stupidity happens everyday. microsoft if you have done your studying is government controled they tried to split it up a few years ago never found out if they succeeded they have guide line rule structures on microsoft such as freedom of information on their programs and stuff so i suppose nxt you will say stuff like the white house or pentigon. or the american flag who knows.

lately i saw a chinness report about their computer that scowers every web site on the net searching and coping information regularily being published on websites including this one they download website after website searching chat rooms ect. know i realize you are all inteligent people and realize what power the chinness have obtained by this computer. there is no law on the internet and the chinness aloow this to happen. so other countries cant do anything about it.

Call me a traditional... I view the Pentagram/Pentacle both upright and inverted as the one symbol that sets my path. It does establish a boundary between me and the Shadows, as well as show that I am not a Christian and that I follow an alternative path.

I do smirk after remembering in the past when I wore a Pentacle necklace (back in the Wiccan days) and people told me I was going to Hell... I will be getting a pendant soon though... It'll be so much fun hearing that again...
