There is an image posted at the top of this page, a pentacle crossed out by two double-edged tridents. The colors don't really mean anything, I just wanted to make sure my charge (hate to sound so damn white-lighterish...that is not the case, this is something different but the term is valid) knew what I was talking about. Anyway...I'm wondering because my friend saw the symbol in a dream, and the ten people that know about the symbol that I know and are/have been involved in occult practices for a time feel that it is a symbol of evil. even those that were not told the gruesome details of the dream. Some things happened to make me personally believe it is a symbol of very powerful 'evil.' The same with those ten people. Three of whom are fascinated by darker things...they tried to use the symbol to open a portal to hell actually. I'm very glad they are dabblers in this case but even if it worked astrally...I'm a little ticked. They have incredible influence on my charge, and they felt this evil and embraced it...making my job harder. Anyway...if anyone is interested I will expand on what each of these ten people think of this symbol, they just have to ask. We all think it is evil however...hence why it is drawn slightly wrong in that picture.

Which leads me to wonder, since I cannot find any trace of this symbol elsewhere...does anyone here know exactly what KIND of evil it might be? I can already assume 'very powerful'. Does anyone have any information about this symbol?

I have tried several google and altavista searches. I couldn't find anything on the symbol. I have no access to an occult library that might be able to help. so any information that you guys have (even just the NAME) would be really useful. I have a feeling that the three satanic fluffies* that I mentioned earlier are going to try it again and actually succeed in at the least summoning something then realizing they don't want it there without any way of banishing it. They did several things wrong last time...but they might actually fix them...and no I was not the one who told them about it. And if I'm right about what they will do, someone living in a close vicinity of them with at least some power needs to reverse what they've done afterwards or convince them not to do what they plan...but that will take information that I am lacking at the moment. does ANYONE out there know anything about this symbol?

*they call themselves Wiccan yet believe in a lot of Christian theology...otherwise they would not be trying to summon a portal to hell, quite plainly. it is a mark of the fluffy.

I havent seen that symbol before, but I do recall the double trident appearing in some of HP Lovecrafts works, where there was talk of "opening portals". Try looking at some Lovecraft sites on the net. I hope this helps. I will keep an eye open and let you know if I come up with anything else,

Looks like random badly done imagery to me. If that symbol is a mark of pure evil, then it's official...Pure evil doesn't have much imagination.

This would be a very, very good thing to believe, yet if it was a mark of pure imagination, one of the people asked who did not feel anything bad from the symbol would not have said "I saw that in a tatoo shop." I have never been in a tatoo shop, and until this girl had said this, I felt the same way: it could be imaginary. That thought was why I had to ask around to people that knew nothing of the friend that saw the symbol, giving no conviction either way of what it meant.

Why in the world would a complex symbol be needed or even WANTED by 'pure evil'? I mean...look at the Elder Furthark, or the Cross of the Cavalry (I think that's the correct name), the inverted cross, the twisted cross, the Star of David, etc. and many of these Are Simplistic, no matter how one sees them. I know the demon seals are complex, I've seen them. I know there are exceptions to symbols being simple. But those most likely to be used by the majority of people for protection or anything else are simplistic. Therefore, simplicity is an advantage. People in general would prefer to cross themselves rather than to write out the SATOR-ROTAS square for protection when they feel fear. The simplicity of the symbol makes it even more suspicious.

I think you kind of meant what you said as a joke to show that I am probably being way past paranoid when it comes to that symbol/sigil/whatever you want to call it. While I understand how you might see that, I assure you: I'm just trying to get information to assure that this is not the case. Thank you for your opinion, however, and sorry if it appears I have no sense of humor...it's just warped.

As near as I can tell its a High Mage Necromancers cross. Good news is you need to be a high necromancer to actually use it. hope this helps.

hehe...so long as any 'lykens' or 'vampyres' are automatically High Necromancers, this is very good news, most likely. thanks! Hm...and it seems to fit with my friend's dream...very, very ceremonial....
